Participates in software requirement review, preliminary and critical design, integration readiness review, and software acceptance review.\n\nCommand and Control Solutions Directorate (C2SD) provides Battlespace Solutions through software life cycle engineering, concentrating on applications, architectures, designs, products, management support, acquisition support, and post deployment and post production software support. The goals for the C2SD are to improve support to the Acquisition Community and Warfighter, to create healthier balance between \"emerging\" systems and current force systems, and to establish software leadership presence in future based Army initiatives.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nResearches, designs, and develops computer software systems, in conjunction with hardware product development, for medical, industrial, military, communications, aerospace, and scientific applications, applying principles and techniques of computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.\n\nShall provide general software engineering support and technical consultation to include software products and services, studies and computer application evaluations; Field and problem report investigations; cause of action analyses; development of technical solutions; and poject technical assessments.\n\nShall conduct software engineering assessements on assigned systems to provide evaluation of modifiability, portability, reusability, performance and other quality areas.\n\nShall assist in the evaluation, analysis and recommendation of new preplanned product improvements (P3I) and technology insertions by developing and performing extensive testing, analysis, and evaluation of these products.\n\nShall assist in the preparation of program development plans and program documents based on the analysis and evaluation.\n\nAnalyzes software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Involvement in business development includes briefing customers on company capabilities.\n\nConsults with hardware engineers and other engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of overall system.\n\nFormulates and designs software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.\n\nDevelops and directs software system testing procedures, programming, and documentation.\n\nConsults with customers concerning maintenance of software system.\n\nProvides support for the acquisition, installation, maintenance and operations of computer systems hardware, software and networks within assigned customer work stations and facilities.\n\nContributes technical material to selected proposals and reports to substantiate and secures program funding. Acts as technical lead for pre-proposal, proposal, and existing program efforts.\n\nIdentifies creative solutions to improve system and product offerings.\n\nReviews test plans and define / develop test benches for software libraries. Integrates externally developed code into core libraries.\n\nWorks with engineering and management team to collectively meet market requirements.\n\nDocuments engineering work as input for company collateral and patent requirements.\n\nCollaborates with technical writers to create customer-relevant documentation.\n\nCoordinates with project work teams to ensure adherence to policies, achievement of quality targets and delivery on schedule milestones.\n\nSupports program management office in technical role.\n\nRepresents the organization as a customer contact on contracts or projects.\n\nMay research the marketing requirements for a product, including target environment, performance criteria, and competitive issues.\n\nInteracts with senior customer personnel on significant technical matters, often requiring coordinated activity across organizational lines.\n\nProvides advice, guidance and team leadership to less experienced staff.\n\nEDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:\n\nTypically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent and seven to nine years of related experience.\n\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\n\nNormal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods, and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face.
