Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
Performs complex tasks providing general or specialized analyses in various accounting functions such as Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Cost and Accounting.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prepares specialized reports and analyses.
Develops or modifies major segments of an accounting system including associated accounts, records, reports, and controls.
Makes daily decisions concerning the accounting treatment of financial transactions and recommends solutions to complex accounting problems.
Provides support to managers and employees with all aspects of accounting functions.
Maintains appropriate project accounting controls to ensure compliance for revenue recognition and invoicing.
Reviews, coordinates and provides documentation to support various internal and external audit requirements.
May perform statistical analyses to determine trends, estimates, and significant changes, and writes narrative reports explaining findings.
Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and company procedures.
Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports.
May conduct studies and submit recommendations for improving the organization's accounting operation.
May provide team leadership for less experienced employees.
Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with OMB A-23 circular and Federal Governement Accounting Principles.
Familiarity with Trial Balances, Status of Accountability, and external reporting.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent and five to seven years of related experience.
CPA or sitting for a CPA is a plus.
Accounting certifications, CDFM, CGFM are also a plus.
