Overview:
Under general supervision, plans and coordinates implementations of switch cuts, forecasts, and special projects within the network. Prepares, tests, implements, and operates computer programs for modeling and simulation tools. Determines quantities, costs, and suppliers of circuits. Performs cost crossover analyses and other traffic engineer duties.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This individual will provide analysis of current and future bandwidth requirements as compared to bandwidth availability. The position will use government-provided models and tools to determine if additional bandwidth will be required. The outputs of the process will be used in procurement actions and the provisioning of customer circuits.
Required Qualifications:
This position requires a TS/SCI clearance with a polygraph.
The individual should have a strong understanding of long-haul communications and the associated components, as well as the ability to model bandwidth requirements.
Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and two to four years of experience.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience modelling bandwidth requirements.
