Description
Duties and Responsibilities:Transcribe/translate advanced level graphic and/or voice language material into modern American English in either verbatim or gisted format. Provide quality control of transcripts and translations of junior linguists. Operate customer furnished transcription equipment in accordance with operational guidelines. Draft Intelligence reports and provide quality control of reports of more junior personnel. Develop and implement translation methodology and quality control procedures and standards. Prepare and present technical briefings to customer and upper management. Share your native language expertise with Government or Contractor Language and Intelligence Analysts, and other personnel as required.
Required Qualifications:Must possess native or near native proficiency in: Chinese or possess a 3/3 rating on the DLPT or PQE. This position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, and two to four years of relevant experience.
Native linguists do not need cryptologic linguistic experience but must have demonstrated native linguistic documentation and at least one year of experience in document exploitation, transcription, and/or translation. Formal Education in native language may replace lack of cryptologic experience for native linguists.
U.S. citizen with current TS/SCI and Polygraph.
Language(s) must possess native or near native proficiency in: Arabic, or Chinese, or Farsi, or Hindi, or Pashto, or Russian, or Uzbek or Korean or Somali, OR Swahili; or possess a 3/3 rating on the DLPT or PQE. This position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, and two to four years of relevant experience.
