Duties and Responsibilities:

In this role, you will work closely with management, supervise one or more Information System administration personnel and ensure all contract deliverables are achieved. Your extensive knowledge of information network software and hardware will enhance the managers objectives and those of our clients. You must be familiar with all information security procedures. Your attendance at recurring status meetings with a project team on a regular basis will be necessary and you will advise management of all activities regularly.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline

At least 5 years of experience with information security administration or network security

Broad understanding of various networks and an architectural knowledge of LANS/WANS

Information Assurance certification of Level II or higher in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 8570

Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The clearance level required is dependent on the type of clearance supported by our client: Top Secret clearance may be required

POSITION SUMMARY:

With a wide range of knowledge, performs independent assessment of the information security posture of an organization using applicable tools. Assesses information network threats such as computer viruses. Operates vulnerability assessment equipment in support of penetration analyses. Provides guidance to less experienced information security professionals. Prepares evaluation reports. Recommends remedial action.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monitors security systems, and analyzes potential threats and vulnerabilities to client systems.

Develops new computer and network security systems, including both hardware and software.

Coordinates technical incident response and remediation activities for client environments.

Provides security analysis and consultation services for product, system and network architecture designs.

Develops tools for operational use and analyzes current threats to information security and systems.

Analyzes network traffic and alerts to assess, prioritize and differentiate between potential intrusion attempts and false alarms.

Launches and tracks investigations to resolution.

Composes and sends alert notifications.

Analyzes security findings and data.

Publishes reports and keeps metrics for client systems.

Maintains vendor and trusted partner relationships.

Knowledge of the DoD Secure Configuration Management (SCM) methodology, in particular, the use of Host Based System Security (HBSS) to automatically update vulnerability status in DISA's Vulnerability Management System (VMS) and support accreditation decisions in Enterprise Mission Assurance Support Service (eMASS) using machine to machine integration with VMS.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsible for providing technical guidance focused on information security architecture. Performs security research, analysis, and design for assigned client computing systems and the network infrastructure. Responsible for the prevention, detection, investigation and response with respect to security threats and attacks. Facilitates security vulnerability assessments and penetration tests. Responsible for working on security alerts, events, and security incidents, including forensic analysis. Helps plan configuration changes for major security infrastructure platforms. Implements, documents and may help develop formal security programs and policies throughout the organization and monitors compliance to these policies and programs. Researches, designs, develops and implements monitoring, response and administration of a variety of network security and remote access service. Configures and validates secure systems and tests security products and systems to detect security weakness. Contributes general consulting (risk analysis) and project support in the area of information security to IT infrastructure and division computing projects as needed to support new business requirements. Participates in the technical aspects of internal security audits and investigations. Manages and maintains a library of security audit tools, and corresponding processes that can be used for system security testing, internal audits, incident response, and diagnosis of security-related system issues. In addition, it his responsibility to conduct monthly as well as special request, Retina vulnerability scans, on both the unclassified and classified networks. Additional support included the monitoring of the Online Compliance Reporting System (OCRS), administration and troubleshooting of the Host Based Security System (HBSS) agents, and validation of network router, switch, and firewall configurations for the enterprise. Also, participate in the development of Information Assurance related documentation to provide better continuity on the project, and contribute as part of the Certification and Accreditation (C&amp;A) packages for the various networks and systems.

Required Qualifications:

- Requires a Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science or related discipline; or equivalent and five to seven years of related experience.
- Department of Defense 8570 compliant certification.
- Candidate must have experience with various network scanning tools, DISA STIGs, checklists and SRR's, understand patch management, and have experience with firewalls.
- Current TS/SCI clearance required

- Conduct security assessments of system security plans to help ensure that plans provide security controls for information systems that meet stated security requirements.
