Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
The desired candidate will lead the design and development of a complex and tightly integrated business intelligence and data warehouse solution. Candidate will be responsible for the overall success of the data warehouse solution through multiple waves of deployment. Other responsibilities include:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of the Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse team - manage task assignments so that activities are completed as required by the overall project
- Actively participate in design and analysis sessions to ensure sound team decision-making
- Coordinate system and user acceptance testing activities, including issue resolution so that tasks are completed in a timely manner
- Work with development staff and technical documentation staff to ensure completion of all required documentation
- Mentor and train junior staff by sharing best practices and lessons learned from past implementation efforts
- Candidate might identify process improvement opportunities
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and seven to nine years of related experience including:
- 7+ years of experience with software development, including a strong knowledge of Oracle, SQL
- 5+ years of applicable experience in implementing enterprise data warehousing solutions
- 2+ years of experience with IBM Cognos Business Analytics
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment and manage activities of a team are required
- Candidate should exhibit a superior degree of discretion and autonomy
Desired Qualifications:
- 3+ years of Federal consulting experience
- Experience with data warehouse star schema design
- Experience integrating multiple large scale systems into a single warehouse
- Strong domain knowledge on SOA architecture projects
- Experience implementing a data warehousing solution for an enterprise SOA architecture environment
- Experience with IBM Cognos design and implementation
- Experience with IBM Cognos, Oracle SW suites and Rational development tools
