Begins to plan research, evaluate, and recommend new computer network equipment and technologies. Utilizes monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to troubleshoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace data and protocol activity. Devises solutions to moderately complex operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment. Monitors, analyzes, troubleshoots and/or evaluates hardware, software, and other network related problems. Works in integration of a total network including the planning, design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of the corporate network. Performs general network administration tasks as required. Implements improvements to existing network architecture, and network Management systems based on guidance from senior level engineers. Analyzes performance and tunes Network Monitoring systems to collect appropriate status. Conducts research and evaluation of products in support of network needs. Coordinates with all responsible users and sites. Maintains current of technological developments and applications. Helps to evaluate vendor products to make recommendations for purchase.
