Description
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assists in researching regulatory, scientific and engineering written materials.
Aids in recognizing, evaluating and developing the necessary controls for environmental aspects, risk and impacts.
Attends meetings on matters affecting the environment and travels to visit field activities, to inspect or survey workplaces, processes, products, or other systems for compliance.
Assists in the development of procedures, and implements processes which have been established to assure compliance with applicable standards, requirements, processes and identified best practices.
Participates in diverse activities such as plan development and implementation, performance data quality review, incident investigation report review, and performance assessments.
May train workers, supervisors, managers, or other environmental personnel in environmental subjects.
May serve as a technical or procedural advisor to operational counterparts.
Required Qualifications:
Requires a bachelor-level degree in environmental science or a related scientific or technical discipline and five to seven years of related experience.
Desired Qualifications:
Professional certification as a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) is desired.
