Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

Under direct supervision, provides support to a major Army Logistics Command global end-users for PC, server, mainframe applications and hardware. May interact with network services, software systems engineering, and/or applications development to restore service and/or identify and correct core problems. Simulates or recreates user problems to resolve operating difficulties. Recommends systems modifications to reduce user problems. Refers more complex problems to Intermediate and/or Senior Level.

Required Qualifications:

Demonstrates familiarity with logistics IT concepts, practices and procedures.

Requires Secret clearance with eligibility to obtain Top Secret if required.

Requires 8570 IAT I Certification.

Possesses exceptional communications and customer service skills.

Knowledge of the Help Desks Institute

Knowledge of process improvement using current best business practices ITIL, Lean, Six Sigma, CMMI, and other methodologies as appropriate.

Desired Qualifications:

ITIL certification

HDI certification

Experience with vendor and customer relationship management

A+ and/or Security + Certification

Knowledge of LEAN and CMMI methodologies

MCTS and/or MCDST Certification

EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE:

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under close supervision, assists users with client issued proprietary databases, software, software configuration control and systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

May maintain file servers, network access; documents and analyzes system anomalies to ensure optimum equipment performance.

Troubleshoots determine problems for customer specific operating systems and applications.

Defines and classifies level, priority and nature of problem, request and/or issue. If unable to diagnose problem and/or problem requires physical interaction with end user the technician escalates problem to the appropriate team.

Responsible for opening, tracking and closing trouble tickets. Ensures problem ownership and promotes end-user satisfaction.

Must possess technical skill and knowledge in computer hardware and software as well as networking systems in use at customer sites.

Requires experience and knowledge of installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of computers.

Requires strong communication and excellent customer service skills.

Role may be considered mission critical.

EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE:

Typically requires bachelor's degree (in Computer Science or related field) or equivalent, and zero to two years of related experience. Additional training will be required to support legacy systems.

Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a minimum of a Secret Security Clearance and must be obtained within a reasonable amount of time upon hire.

Requires current A+ and MCTS certifications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
