What You’ll Get to Do

CACI is seeking a Capabilities Development Specialist who will be tracking and ensuring adherence to Joint Capability and Integration Development System (JCIDS) processes between the Contested Logistics (CL) Cross-Functional Team (CFT) and Army Futures Command (AFC) HQ, Headquarters Department of the Army (HQDA), and Joint and Army capability development agencies.

More About the Role

  • Must have knowledge and experience in working power and energy, ranging from batteries to hydrogen power to nuclear power.

  • Performs initiation, document drafting, management, coordination, and staffing for CFT capability initiatives, prototyping efforts, and Programs of Record (PoR), adjusting as necessary to accomplish specific CFT and AFC missions.

  • Coordinates current and future force developments of capabilities to ensure delivery of all appropriate and supporting requirements documents.

  • Facilitates close coordination with doctrine, organizations, training, materiel, leader development, personnel, facilities, and policy (DOTMLPF-P) efforts to maximize developed capabilities for the generating and operational force.

  • Facilitates efforts related to bringing organizations and items into the Army inventory, long range strategic planning, system safety, survivability, reliability, operational and cost effectiveness, environmental impacts, and logistical support.

  • Ensures that capability development programs affecting more than one proponent are properly integrated to include the requirements of all interested stakeholders and are presented to materiel acquisition Program Managers (PM), TRADOC Capability Managers (TCM), FCC, AFC Staff, Department of the Army (DA), Joint Organizations, and other external Parties.

  • Informs the Chief, Capabilities Development and Deputy Director of potential issues related to the Army Future Force regarding CFT interests, materiel, and training development / integration; and presents options/ recommendations to resolve issues.

  • Implements and directs the planning and coordination of special events and programs relative to Army Future Force capability development initiatives.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • Active Secret with ability to obtain a TS/SCI.

  • BS/BA degree at least 12 years of experience in the field or in a related area.

  • Experience in managing and analyzing user needs and requirements of Science & Technology (S&T) Initiates.

  • Knowledge and experience with drafting and coordinating Initial Capabilities Documents (ICD), Capabilities Development Documents (CDD), Directed Requirements (DR), DOTMLPF Change Recommendations (DCR) and associated supporting documents to an acceptable performance level necessary to properly equip organizations within the force.

  • Strong communications skills to actively participate in formulating long range strategic plans, goals, policies, and objective.

  • Ability to participate actively in formal and informal meetings and conferences when policies and plans are developed.

  • Ability to provide ongoing analysis of products developed within the CFT and explains, clarifies, and supports findings. Provide expert Logistics representation for the CFT at relevant Army and Joint Capability Development workshops, seminars, conferences and meetings and preparation of a variety of written documentation, handouts, charts, and analytical and technical reports, as required.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

  • Experience in coordinating research efforts with counterparts in other agencies who have similar study responsibilities, and critiques survey forms and research efforts conducted by other agencies.

Since this position can be worked in more than one location, the range shown is the national average for the position.

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$78,100-$171,900
