POSITION SUMMARY:
Analyzes complex local and wide area network systems, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices.
JOB DUTIES:
Collaborates with clients to establish a business driven vision for the future of our clients Information Technology (IT) systems, processes and infrastructure, and a roadmap to achieve that vision. Services also include assessment and improvement of IT processes for completeness, maturity and quality of services by leveraging industry standards with an emphasis in ITIL transformation/integration in an Enterprise Environment. The scope of these services spans service delivery and service management, with focus on the value delivery and governance disciplines. The candidate must have an ITIL certification of Intermediate or higher, and a broad knowledge of the IT function and how IT enables business through effective strategic planning, governance and management discipline. Working knowledge of key IT management processes and industry frameworks (ITIL, CMMI, Six Sigma, PMBOK, etc). Experience working with IT leadership to help shape and guide the IT strategic and improvement agenda.
GENERALRESPONSIBILITIES:
Resolves difficult inter-operability problems to obtain operation across all platforms, including e-mail, files transfer, multimedia, teleconferencing and similar issues. Configures systems to user environments. Supports acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services. Understands commercial and federal information system security requirements. Analyzes information system security issues, proposes solutions and ensures information security is a foundation in information system design. Confers with personnel of organizational units involved to analyze current operational procedures, identify problems, and learn specific input and output requirements such as forms of data input, how data is to be summarized, and formats for reports. Studies existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develops new systems to improve production or workflow as required. Plans and prepares reports, memoranda, and instructional manuals as documentation of program development. Responsible for the employment, training, motivation, discipline and performance evaluation of assigned employees.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Typically requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, and 10-12 years of related progressively responsible network systems engineering experience, including one to two years of supervisory and/or management experience.
Requires an ITIL certification of Intermediate or higher, and a broad knowledge of the IT function and how IT enables business through effective strategic planning, governance and management discipline.
Requires a working knowledge of key IT management processes and industry frameworks (ITIL, CMMI, Six Sigma, PMBOK, etc).
Requires experience working with IT leadership to help shape and guide the IT strategic and improvement agenda.
Security Clearance:
Must be able to obtain a TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Normal demands associated with an office environment. Ability to work on computer for long periods and communicate with individuals by telephone, email and face to face. Some travel may be required.
