Description

Duties and Responsibilities:

CACI is looking for Imagery Scientists who are interested in joining a team of highly trained professionals. The Imagery Scientist will work with other multi-disciplinary remote sensing scientists and engineers providing data analysts. As a Subject Matter Expert (SME), the candidate will provide scientific analysis and products gleaned from the exploitation of multispectral image (MSI) and hyper-spectral image (HSI) data from multiple sources for the customer. The individual assist in the design of new processes for future sensors. The candidate will provide products to the customer via web dissemination, database up-dates, or direct reporting as prescribed by the customer . When required, the candidate will provide informational briefings for the purpose of educating analysts and managers on the capabilities of spectral data and their potential application. This may require the presentation of technical information or case studies resulting from operational support requests. This will also include monitoring the community and industry for emergent technologies that can be rapidly inserted for operational use.

The Imagery Scientist will apply appropriate analytical principles and techniques and have the following responsibilities:

· Experience with remote sensing exploitation tools such as ENVI, ERDAS Imagine, and COTS image processing software

· Collaborate with and provide scientific analysis support

· Apply AGI techniques and capabilities to mission issues

· Experience in applied image processing and scientific analysis of spectral imagery

· Knowledge of imaging system technology, image formation, and phenomenology

· Proficiency with techniques, algorithms, and scientific analysis of spectral data processing

· Communicate effectively in writing and oral presentations

· Complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision

· Work cooperatively and effectively as a team member

Required Qualifications:

· 3+ years of experience with imagery analysis

· Experience with electro-optical, radar, infrared, multispectral, or hyper-spectral

· Experience with ENVI, SOCET GXP, IDL and/or ERDAS Imagine

· TS/SCI clearance

· HS Diploma or GED

Desired Qualifications:

· Ability to use softcopy workstations (NEC, IEC) a plus.

· Knowledge of COTS desktop software, including Microsoft Office in Microsoft Windows and UNIX environments preferred

· Understand and apply sensor types including ONIR and OPIR, spectral, SAR, LIDAR, or thermal

· Ability to customize image processing software with coded scripts in languages, including IDL

· Ability to exhibit fluency in imagery science areas

· Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills

· BA or BS degree preferred with a major in a hard science or geography

· The successful candidate will spend the first six months training at in Northern Virginia and six months deployed to potentially hazardous locations.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

6+ Years with HS including specialized training at a military school or 5+ Years with AA or 2+ Years with BS
