RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.
- Reviews performance logs and monitors system performance.
- Troubleshoots and resolves system hardware, software and communications problems; creates shell programs and utility scripts; performs configurations and adjustments to enhance database file capacity; performs automated and manual backup and restore processes.
- Installs, configures and tests software packages.
- Provides user support and may conducts user software and hardware training to formulate technology solutions and ensure the effective safeguarding and sharing of enterprise data.
- Evaluates requests for hardware and software; researches and recommends solutions to technology needs, compatible with the client's technology architecture and infrastructure and resource constraints.
- Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
- Performs daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.

TITLE: Tier 2 Close Support/System Adminstrator

RESPONSIBILITIES:

- As System Administrator unlock users accounts and reset passwords using Active Directory
- Submit request for Group Request, Notes Database access, and Name Changes and account creation.
- Work tickets from the Tier 2 queue and route them to the proper service provider.
- Use remote access to assist customers that are in outer buildings.
- Transfer data from network to network.
- Support the Customer's Operations center as well as the Watch Center.
- Load software for users that cannot be loaded remotely or with the agencies add/remove program.
- Complete a daily activity report that includes all work completed and not completed.
- Work to resolve issues in the queue.
- Works with users to resolve Lotus Notes issues and issues with other applications.
- Add users to Share drives.
- Work on special projects that cannot be completed during regular hours i.e.: Workstation builds, software loads hardware swap outs etc.
- Support windows applications issues.
- VTC Support Assist with setting up Video Conferencing.

Work Shifts:

24 X 7  Nights - 5:30PM - 5:30AM

(44 hours one week and 36 hours the next)

Duties and Responsibilities:

Serves as the System Administrator for Local Area Network, responsible for diagnosing and resolving computer and network related problems and reporting issues to customers and venders alike. System Administrator will require to perform system backups, applying operating system updates, software security patches, making configuration changes, making Group Policy changes, install and configure hardware and software.

Required Qualifications:

- Experience in the installation and administration of Windows Active Directory. Knowledgeable in Group Policy objects, Microsoft Exchange 2003, DNS, Domain Controllers, IIS, and WSUS.
- Working knowledge with EMC SANs, and VMWare ESX Server.
- Knowledge of DoD Regulations governing the use of computer systems (i.e., Vulnerability Management System (VMS), Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG).
- Security + Certification or obtain within six months of employment.
- Military experience a plus.
- Strong customer skills with the ability to multi-task and have a positive attitude.
- Familiar with documenting the configuration of a system.
- Requires a Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
- Ability to work within a team environment with a solid work ethic.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, maintains data files and control procedures for a complex system of networked computers or for a single group of microcomputers linked to a host workstation, or mainframe. Responsible for system security and data integrity. Assigns passwords and monitors use of resources, backs up files as required and responds to management requests for information.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Establishes and maintains user accounts, assigns file permissions and establishes password and account policies; installs, upgrades, configures, tests, maintains and supports operating system software in a production environment.

Reviews performance logs and monitors system performance.

Troubleshoots and resolves basic level system hardware, software and communications problems; may perform configurations and adjustments to enhance database file capacity; performs automated and manual backup and restore processes.

Installs, configures and tests software packages.

Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.

Performs daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary.

Performs regular file archival and purge as necessary.

Creates, changes, and deletes user accounts per request.

EDUCATION &amp; EXPERIENCE:

Support the MSC front office staff (both Government and contractor) and the Tech Support team in mapping the technical direction of the MSC. Expert in managing large scale IT databases and have demonstrated a proficiency in strategic planning for the purposes of MSC technical infrastructure recapitalization. hree years AutoCad (or equivalent) experience and knowledge of VidCad is preferred. Manage create, update, and print media production system technical documentation. Demonstrate knowledge of video and/or computer network system flow drawings, 2-D and 3-D equipment rack elevations, plan drawings, cable, cable types, and cable database tracking systems. Shall have experience in: developing technically complex systems, managing Oracle databases, data standards development &amp; implementation. Shall focus on three areas: business process expertise, technical expertise, and programmatic experience. Shall assist in devising solutions for solving complex problems using COTS and GOTS packages and will advise MSC on technology refreshment. Shall be instrumental in crafting a strategic plan and other related decision briefings for MSC.

Minimum requirements shall include:

·     BS in Computer Science, MIS, IT or related field.

·     Five years hands-on experience developing strategic, recapitalization and capability strategies consistent with enterprise goals.

·     Five years experience within the Intelligence Community or US Government leading IT change or innovation.

·     Two years experience in Project Management and demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Project or equivalent project management software.

·     Demonstration of strong customer service skills and qualifications.
