CACI International Firmware Engineer in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland

Job Description

CACI is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. If you are looking to show your strong technical knowledge in firmware development and engineering, Field Programmable Gate Arrays, software integration, threat load and radio frequency system baseline while working in a team environment we would like to speak with you.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Designing and testing Very High Speed Integrated Circuit Hardware Description Language (VHDL) interface between Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) and input/output (I/O) devices and evaluation in laboratory and field test environments

  • Application development in VHDL and embedded logic design for Xilinx FPGA applications

  • Embedded software design and development for microprocessor/microcontroller applications

  • Support all phases of detailed system and subsystem development activities for embedded applications, from upfront analysis to end item development and sustainment

  • Hands-on lab testing of electronics hardware – Experienced with test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers)

  • Act as a senior technical advisor in support of a staff consisting of firmware developers, and exploitation staff, testers, and programmatic support on a team consisting of Radio Frequency engineers, software engineers , and Remote Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) threat analysts

More About the Role:

  • You will be part of an integrated team to maintain effectiveness in defeating worldwide electronic warfare and signals threats while using your problem-solving skills and able to work independently while in support of on-going projects managed from the Communications Electronic Command Software Engineering Center’s Army Reprogramming Analysis Team (ARAT) Program Office.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance

  • Computer Science, Electronics Engineering or other Engineering or Technical discipline is required.

  • FPGA/ application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) simulation tools

  • FPGA synthesis tools

  • Experience in MATLAB®, LabVIEW, and Xilinx FPGA firmware development

  • Five (5) years of experience as a firmware engineer solving firmware engineering problems

  • Experience working with system users translating requirements into systems, hardware, and software requirements and design

  • Strong background in development and implementation of test strategies.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • An active Secret clearance

  • Advanced degree

  • Experience in development of RF system detection and attack algorithms

  • Experience as a technical subject matter expert in support of electronic and radio frequency systems

  • Experience with configuration management and version control on hardware and software and accompanying documentation to ensure auditability

  • Strong Visio, PowerPoint, Excel and Word skill

  • Experience with global telecommunications protocols, radio frequency communication standards, and coding standards and best practices

  • Experience in the design, development, and testing of electronic warfare and electronic attack systems

  • Experience working in a CMMI Level 3 or higher environment

  • Experience in systems integration

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, and collaboration skills to plan, architect, and implement future embedded systems in current and future devices
