CACI is seeking a Programmer/Game Developer to provide modeling and simulation support to ourcustomer on Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland
Responsibilities:
Work with artists and digital content to implement robust, performant, and interactive features using Unreal Engine.
Work with game programmers to build, test, and create new and existing features using Unreal Engine.
Work with programmers and engineers to implement technical data.
Convert prototype-style content into fully featured and optimized C++ code.
Maintain holistic understanding of the project to successfully inform government client and external government customers about capabilities and integration opportunities.
Develop, iterate, and optimize both new and existing features while maintaining compatibility with existing structure.
Review, analyze, and test features before, during, and post-integration with the main codebase.
Test, review, and provide constructive criticism on work submitted by peers.
Respond to and apply constructive criticism to own work.
Document design decisions, requirements, user manuals, technical papers, etc.
Required Skills:
BS Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Game Development with 3 yrs experience in game development or game programming.
Must possess experience in game programming utilizing C++ and Microsoft Visual Studio for Unreal Engine.
Broad understanding of the Unreal Engine 4 and/or 5 editor structure and suite of tools.
Ability to comprehend existing code and non-destructively update, improve, expand, and adjust behavior.
Ability to adhere to an existing code style and properly comment and document new work.
Must be a US Citizen and eligible to obtain security clearance.
Willingness to work a hybrid schedule in the Aberdeen, MD area.
Desired Skills
Experience working with Git and GitLab version control.
Experience working with Perforce version control.
Experience working with Jira for project tracking and collaboration.
Familiarity with the content creation pipeline for game development.
Understanding of performance profiling for the Windows PC platform
