The CACI team is looking for a new team member passionate about supporting the next generation Laser Warning Receiver (LWR) technology. This individual will support US Army’s Subject Matter Experts (SME) on all LWR activities, including engineering, software, cyber, test and logistics support to ensure the technologies developed meet performance requirements.
What You’ll Get to Do:
Provide technical support to Government identified LWR Engineering Leads for LWR vehicle integration.
Conduct technical performance and evaluation of laser detection technologies.
Conduct development and execution of technical assessments of vendor laser detection sensors both in laboratory and field settings
Support formal government test events, program management support tasks, and material release support for U.S. Army Ground Combat Vehicle (GCV) integration.
Work with customers (both internal and external to CACI) to help integrate our solutions into a wide variety of applications and use cases.
Inform and assist identified vehicle product managers (PM) to ensure all necessary performance, maintenance, environmental, quality assurance, training, and security requirements are accounted.
Maintain configuration control of platform specific Laser Warning Performance specification and Security Classification Guides (SCG).
Travel to other CACI locations and/or customer sites in the US as necessary (travel requirement is typically 0 - 10%)
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Optical or Electrical Engineering or Physics or equivalent technical degree.
1-5 years related work experience.
Understanding of principles in optics, optical engineering, laser design, or Electronic Warfare Countermeasures
Working knowledge with optical assembly, alignment, test equipment, and/or tools
Working Knowledge in lasers, polarization, detectors, electro-optical devices and opto-mechanical constructions.
Capability to interface with multidisciplinary groups (including senior leadership), and be willing to take on responsibility and follow through
Candidate must show strong critical thinking skills, researching a topic that has never been done before.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Self-motivated and self-directed individual, with little supervision necessary
Minimum Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain/maintain an US Government Clearance at the Secret level.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Hands-on and laboratory skills in building, testing, validating, and troubleshooting of optical, fiber optic, or opto-mechanical subsystems
Experience designing an optical system from requirements generation to prototype deliverable
Knowledge in RF/IR/EO
Knowledge of Electronic Warfare, Electronic Countermeasures, or comparable discipline
A drive to continuously improve and refine existing capabilities alongside new development opportunities.
Ability to work with a distributed team and manage your time effectively across multiple, simultaneous projects.
