In support of the Joint Navigation Warfare Center (JNWC) contract, you will be a part of our team’s efforts to empower the Department of Defense’s navigation warfare (NAVWAR) mission ensuring positioning, navigation and timing superiority. Our mission is to provide combatant commanders and joint force commanders with subject matter expertise on planning and conducting NAVWAR by providing knowledge of friendly and enemy NAVWAR Order of Battle and PNT-related successes and threats.
About the role:
Review content of technical engineering documentation for quality.
Produces technical engineering and scientific illustrations for presentations and/or publication, as appropriate to the requirements.
Ensures that documents follow the style laid out in the style guide.
Creates documents for publication both within the organization and externally using input provided by team members, stakeholders, research sources, and other content providers.
Writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses.
Integrates graphics, text, and other media to create presentations and publications.
Coordinates the production.
Proofreads and edits correspondence, documents, memoranda, presentations, and other publication materials to ensure they conform to DoD standards for spelling, grammar, and style.
Assists content providers in identifying the appropriate medium and format for presentations and publications.
Ensures content is of high quality and conforms to standards.
Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials.
Responsible for producing, proof‐reading, editing, and formatting technical documentation to include design specifications, manuals, on‐line help, procedures, plans, and proposals. Edits and formats information for consumption through various media channels to include printed materials, scripted voice content, email, websites, and other electronic access points. Gathers information, interviews subject matter experts, and conducts other research in order to convey technical material in a concise and effective manner.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
3/5/7 Yrs Relevant experience, multiple levels needed.
Prefer prior editing experience with DoD or government agency
BA/BS in English, communications, journalism, computer science, web design, engineering or a related field;
Prefer Certified Professional Technical Communicator (CPTC), Certified Technical Professional (CTP) or other equivalent
Current SECRET clearance
