CACI is seeking a Data Curation/Data Science Portfolio Lead for a very large, innovative, and collaborative team supporting the initiative to advance the state of the art in Big Data, data analysis, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and advanced analytics to enhance the DoD’s and the IC’s information processes and technical architectures.

What You’ll Get to Do:

The Data Curation/Data Science Portfolio Lead will work with a hardworking and high-level team to provide architectural and big picture input for development of new and enhanced products. As well as translate the architectural vision and experiment with alternative approaches, which will bring the latest technologies and contribute to the enhancing of the safety and security capabilities of our country.

  • Collaborate with developers, operations integrators, users and the customer to understand mission needs, build a responsive vision, identify innovative solutions and define and develop requirements.

  • Demonstrate existing capabilities and prototypes to potential customers.

  • Support the program’s business development needs through white papers, ROMs and proposals that address customer needs.

  • Engage with product development teams during design, creation, and test phases to ensure that new capabilities satisfy end-user needs.

  • Identify technical and bureaucratic roadblocks early and eliminate them before encountered by the technical staff.

  • Monitor and report status on budget, schedule and scope.

  • Create contract deliverables such as briefings and reports that effectively communicate accomplishments and lessons learned to stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Primary POC to address customer and development questions, concerns, and requirements

  • Create mission engineering stories for release planning, every 3 months

  • Prioritize backlog

  • Monitor development progress through sprint planning, sprint reviews, scrums, and engagement with individual developers

  • Attend monthly program management reviews to provide project status, discuss issues and demonstrate achievements

  • Collaborate with others to develop customer requests for white papers, ROMs and proposals

  • Maintain awareness of customer initiatives to support vision-casting and strengthening of the program’s competitive position

  • Manages experienced professionals who exercise latitude and independence in assignments, Leads, directs and reviews the work of a team who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments. Typically, has hiring, firing, promotion and reward authority or ability to recommend and influence decisions within own area, in accordance with manager review and approval.

  • Manages a team with a focus on policy, implementation of strategic initiatives and execution of day to day deliverables. Establishes or works to achieve, team objectives, operational plans with measurable contribution towards the achievement of results of the job function or completion of a project.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • A minimum of a TS security clearance with SCI eligibility.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a Government enterprise environments supporting data intensive decision making solutions (e.g., acquiring data, storing data, processing data, analyzing data, visualizing data, turning data into decision support products, disseminating data, and knowledge management).

  • Experience leading and managing cross-functional teams leveraging data science and machine learning tools and technologies.

  • Experience supporting a cloud computing environment (e.g., private, hybrid, and/or public).

  • Experience working in Agile environments with multiple Scrum or Kanban teams working on coordinated efforts.

  • 10 plus years’ experience in this general field

  • MS Degree or higher in a related discipline

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

  • Possess a minimum of five years’ experience with supervised and unsupervised deep learning algorithms like Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN), Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN), Gated Recurrent Unit (GRU) and experience in advanced deep learning packages such as TensorFlow, Keras, Pytorch, Caffe, and Theano.

  • Experience defining and improving data governance and metadata management processes and controls.

  • Experience supporting low-to-high data pipeline development activities.

  • Experience in the research and development of applications/services in machine learning and data science disciplines such as: natural language processing, statistical analysis, predictive analytics, and computer vision.
