What You’ll Get to Do:
You will bring analytical and programmatic expertise to assist the Department of Defense’s Operational Energy Prototype Fund (OEPF) in assessing cutting edge technologies in areas such as microgrids, power generation, power storage, hybrid vehicles, and power beaming. As an experienced professional and self-starter, the OEPF Assistant Portfolio Lead supports the OEPF Portfolio on all programmatic matters for the Operational Energy-Innovation (OE-I) team within Office of Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD A&S). The OE-I team is growing to meet the high profile demands of Department of Defense (DoD) operational energy (OE) needs.
Work location is flexible, but must be available to attend meetings in the Washington, D.C., metro area regularly
More About the Role:
As an OEPF Assistant Portfolio Lead you will:
--Provide expertise on Operational Energy with key program offices/managers, including the Services, specifically United States Navy (USN), United States Army (USA), United States Marine Corp (USMC), United States Air Force (USAF); and the combatant Commands including the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) leadership
- Program support includes calls for proposals, program selection and program gate reviews.
--Provide advice and recommendations on the OSD OE-Innovation director and method for developing and promoting policy and best practices
--Establish working relationship with OE-I team members
--Maintain weekly interface with OE-I staff
--Identify opportunities for OE technology demonstration and evaluation
--Cultivate relationships with Service Acquisition and Requirements community
Assist in maintaining OEPF budget and project activities
--Provide overall support to OEPF and OECIF
--Attend the weekly OE-I team meeting(s) and portfolio reviews
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Ten (10) years of experience in similar activities and tasks
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in the energy, science, technology, engineering, or mathematics field
Active DoD Secret security clearance
Excellent communication skills, unstructured verbal interactions, briefings, and meeting moderation; and, ability to work independently with both junior and senior staff in a distributed environment while maintaining a strong commitment to deliverable scheduled
Specialized experience may be exchanged for education requirements or vice versa
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Master's degree in energy, science, technology, engineering, mathematics, or other relevant field
Active DoD Top Secret security clearance
