The Opportunity:
As Strategic Communications Specialist for Defense Acquisition Programs, you will perform critical strategic communications tasks for key leaders who support the principal staff assistant and advisor to the Secretary of Defense, for matters relating to functions such as: Department of Defense acquisition and sustainment for research and development; advanced technology; developmental test and evaluation; production; logistics; installation management; military construction; defense procurement; acquisition policy; environmental and nuclear security; chemical and biological matters; operational energy plans and programs; corrosion policy and oversight; human capital initiatives; as well as small and disadvantaged business management.
Responsibilities:
Performing advanced analytical support for Strategic Communications with technical expertise, interpersonal skills, detailed knowledge of the DoD organizational structure, and an established network of relationships with other subject matter experts within DoD, the Federal Government and Industry.
Providing senior leaders with recommendations on crafting strategic communication plans that advance the organization mission and goals.
Communicating activities effectively to target audiences.
Providing recommendations on technical content to build effective presentations.
Working directly with senior leaders to shape and build briefings, speeches, and papers for a wide range of audiences, both technical and non-technical.
Taking general guidance on intent, target audience, and venue to build draft products with significant technical content for briefings or papers that effectively deliver the desired message or content.
Effectively understanding and communicating the overall organization strategy and connecting technical activities to the broader strategic context.
Coordinating joint strategic communication efforts with the efforts of other agencies and organizations within the guidance provided by senior leadership.
Developing and implementing standardized strategic communication planning tools to foster consistency over time and across initiatives.
Monitoring, measuring, and assessing the effects of implemented strategic communications initiatives.
Qualifications:
Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI .
Bachelor’s degree is required from an accredited college/university.
Minimum of five (5) years of specialized experience in research for strategic communications.
Executive level support experience, experience within DoD and other federal agencies.
Experience in leading and providing technical guidance and direction involving multiple projects of high complexity.
Must have experience in managing customer expectations and working directly with customers.
Must have outstanding customer service abilities to initiative, judgement, creativity, flexibility, and confidence.
Must have the ability to multi-task across multiple projects.

Pay Range : There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:
$71,500 - $150,200
