What You’ll Get to Do:

BIT Systems is looking for a Specialty Engineer (Field Engineer) to join our team. We need you to have a TS/SCI clearance, experience maintaining and troubleshooting complex RF systems, Digital Signal processing systems, Antenna Systems and associated computer equipment.

More About the Role:

You will be part of a team responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting end to end RF systems, electro/mechanical systems, integrating new equipment and building/ terminating various types of cables, and performing general facilities maintenance activities on site. As part of the team, you will be required to learn and contribute on a variety of tasks outside of the Field Engineering realm, such as inventory management, HAZMAT handling, shipping, environmental health and safety, quality/reliability engineering, warehouse maintenance, escorting foreign nationals, etc.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Typically requires ­­B.S. degree and at least 5 years of related experience (or overall equivalent experience) developing/installing/maintaining systems with antennas, RF signal distribution systems, radomes/support equipment, and computer processing systems

  • Proficient with the use of Spectrum Analyzers

  • Advanced skills in troubleshooting and maintaining antennas, RF signal distribution systems, electronic components, and computer processing system hardware

  • Ability to interpret maintenance manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams and repair equipment utilizing knowledge of electronics and using standard test instruments and hand tools.

  • Be competent in wire and cable manufacturing, repair and routing

  • Be competent in the development and updates of engineering drawings using Visio

  • Responsibilities occasionally require working evenings or weekends.

  • TS/SCI clearance

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the use of welders and a variety of other shop tools

  • Have at least a basic understanding of RF/signal processing principles

  • Have at least a basic knowledge of infrastructure and facilities workings

  • Entry level experience working with Linux operating systems, to include basic commands, on classified networks

  • Entry Level experience working with large HVAC systems (changing filters, basic preventative maintenance, etc.)

  • Basic understanding of network hardware

  • Experience working with heavy support equipment (fork lift, man lift, scissor lift, etc.)

  • Certifications; Forklift, Security+
