The Business Intelligence and Data Analytics Lead is responsible for researching, designing, developing modifying software systems and leading the BI and Data Analytics team. You will present ideas for system improvements, and develop cost estimates for software developments or enhancements. Conduct impact analysis for software changes and produce detailed specifications and software code. As a Lead, you will work closely with business analysts, designers, and subject matter experts to understand functional requirements. In addition, you will: Conduct unit tests and documents findings. Support formal testing in controlled environment before code is promoted to production. Adhere to program configuration change control standards. Provides input into training manuals for users. Understand the structure and functionality of the OBIEE and OBIA applications. Write interfaces and conversion routines leveraging ODI tools. Extend applications by using applicable application tools. Maintain knowledge of feature and technical changes in the application.
Develop a practical roadmap for an (ARMY) enterprise-wide BI reporting and analytics platform.
Define the overall BI data architecture, including ETL processes, ODS, EDW, data marts etc.…
Recommend appropriate solutions to support the implementation of the BI roadmap.
Work with ARMY SME’s and functional resources to ensure that logical and physical data models support the analytic needs of the business.
Provide BI technical and architectural guidance to projects and teams, ensuring that new initiatives enable effective data reporting.
Collaborate with key business users to identify needs and opportunities for improved data management and delivery.
Design and build ETL processes.
Develop reporting solutions as needed.
Provide technical knowledge and business support to the BI/DA team.
Ensure effective communication of user requirements, fit-gap, BI strategies, data solutions, UI solutions etc...
Must be able to identify potential solutions issues/challenges and communicate to Scrum master
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or other technically relevant degree, and 10 years of overall technical experience in system design, project development and production support of large applications/systems.
3+ years enterprise level team leading experience
Good working knowledge of integration of HCM Analytics with ODI, Oracle Access manager, PeopleSoft, BI Publisher, and SharePoint
3+ years enterprise level design and development experience using OBI HCM Analytics
Proven track record of successful implementation of all project life cycle stages from requirements gathering through implementation and enhancements.
Good working knowledge of extending OBI HCM Apps and related ETL programs with new data sources, DFFs, and new DWH tables
Strong knowledge of Oracle databases, UNIX environment, UNIX shell scripts, SQL and PL/SQL, and XML and encryption technologies
Possesses extensive knowledge of application modeling principles, concepts and techniques
Ability to lead and manage teams
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with a strong focus on customer service and solution ownership.
Must have strong analytical skills and can demonstrate strong problem-solving skills
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner and success working in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs)
Ability to obtain Security+ Certification
Ability to attain active Secret clearance
Experience with PeopleSoft HCM 9.x
Possess prior experience of supporting large scale organizations with successful ERP implementation(s).
