What You’ll Get to Do:

You will support the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Communications, Command and Control, Cyber and Business Systems (DASD C3CB) and be part of a team of subject matter experts and technical support analysts producing deliverables, reports, results and recommendations to support informed decisions relating to program investment strategies, guidance and directives, acquisition strategies and funding allocations for DASD C3CB areas of responsibility and oversight.

More About the Role:

In support of Command and Control (C2) for DASD C3CB, you will:

  • Apply cost analysis, assessment of systems acquisition and programs, development and assessments to assist A&S in coordinating with all C2 programs to ensure they are included in all Joint C2 forums and are benefiting from the work done throughout the Joint C2 portfolio;

  • Apply experience and expertise in the areas of Command and Control, Operations Research, and Acquisition Performance Assessment in support of this tasking; and

  • Facilitate and support all working groups and governance bodies internal and external to OUSD(A&S) that pertain to Joint C2 and Joint Cyber C2. These groups include, but are not limited to: the C2 Senior Steering Group for Acquisition (C2 SSG-A), Program Manager-Chief Engineer Steering Group (PM-CESG), Systems Engineering and Integration Working Group (SE&I WG) and its Sub-Working Groups, C2 Requirements bodies (as observer), and emerging/new Joint Cyber C2 governance bodies at all management levels.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in the following areas:

  • Joint C2 processes and forums (10+ years required);

  • Strong technical, requirements and acquisition knowledge in the areas the working groups where A&S is represented (5+ years required);

  • Joint C2 concepts of operations, doctrine and the organization of the Department of Defense and the military Services (2+ years required);

  • Working knowledge of the Joint C2 portfolio of programs and initiatives in the areas of technical, requirements, policy and governance (e.g., charters, CCD, etc.);

  • DoD Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) and Planning Programming Budgeting and Execution (PPBE) processes (5+ years required);

  • Organization and functions of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff (OJCS) (10+ years required);

  • Basic knowledge of the missions, roles and responsibilities, and relationships across the Department of Defense (DoD);

  • DoD PPBE System, Acquisition Process, and JCIDS; and

  • The structure and operation of the OJCS.
