What You’ll Get to Do:

Provide onsite financial and travel management-related policy support for a Federal law enforcement agency. This position is responsible for providing financial and travel management policy services, management advice, and assistance. This includes researching, developing and drafting financial and travel management policy guidance based on research and analysis of Federal financial management regulations and policies.

More About the Role:

The experienced policy analyst assigned to this position will frequently need to communicate client and Federal financial policy guidance in response to general policy inquiries from various government employees, managers, and executive. Additional support is needed to develop professional documents that record and communicate financial management policies in all areas of financial management as well as travel to the client’s community and possibly with external agencies and authorities. The documents comprise the client’s authoritative financial management policy and interpretations applicable to daily operations within the agency including the client’s financial management system. This task requires independent research and coordination with internal and external authorities to make appropriate and logical determinations or conclusions. The individuals assigned to this task shall be responsible for researching and addressing policy questions received and documenting all responses.

You’ll Bring these Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher

  • 12+ years of professional experience

  • 8+ years of Federal financial and travel policy analysis experience

  • Expertise in Federal travel policies and procedures

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting policies, practices and procedures

  • Knowledge of Federal laws and regulations

  • Expertise in complex policy analysis and reviews which require the use of various analytical techniques to evaluate problems, proposals, issues or situations; identification of workable managerial options, including evaluation of advantages and disadvantages, and development of recommendations for correction

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Exceptional client interaction skills

  • Experience with Microsoft’s Office Suite

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience performing policy analyst for a Federal law enforcement agency

  • Experience writing government financial and/or travel policies
