What You’ll Get to Do:

You will support the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Communications, Command and Control, Cyber and Business Systems (DASD C3CB) and be part of a team of subject matter experts and technical support analysts producing deliverables, reports, results and recommendations to support informed decisions relating to program investment strategies, guidance and directives, acquisition strategies and funding allocations for DASD C3CB areas of responsibility and oversight.

More About the Role:

In support of Communications and Networks for DASD C3CB, you will perform technical studies and analysis related to DoD tactical data links addressing topics such as:

  • Capability improvements to Link 16;

  • Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) and Tactical Targeting Network Technology (TTNT) current and future capability;

  • High capacity backbone and other uses of directional mesh technology;

  • MADL functionality, interoperability, and documentation;

  • Potential addition of Second-Generation Anti-Jam Tactical UHF Radio for NATO (SATURN) capability into fighter aircraft;

  • Potential enterprise level DoD Tactical Data Link (TDL) organization constructs;

  • Oversight of multiple Joint Airborne Layer Network (JALN) and gateway efforts;

  • Net enabled weapons evolution, security, and interoperability; and

  • Open architectures for avionics systems such as the potential applicability of Vehicular Integration for (C4ISR) Command, Control, Communication, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance /(EW) Electronic Warfare (EW) Interoperability.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience in the following areas:

  • Leading or conducting Material Solution Analysis (Analysis of Alternatives (AoA), Evaluation of Alternatives (EoA));

  • Developing Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS) requirements documents (ICDs, IS-ICDs, CDDs, IS-CDDs) in accordance with CJCSI 3170.01I- JCIDS Instruction;

  • Acquisition and/ or development of capabilities for Common Data Links (CDL) and Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) communications systems;

  • Operational employment of capabilities for CDL and ISR communications systems;

  • Conduct analysis and/or operations research of CDL and ISR communications systems;

  • Conduct of Capabilities Based Assessment (CBA); and

  • DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) System, Acquisition Process, and JCIDS.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Preparing support documentation for Senior Leadership in the DoD; and

  • Working with/on OSD, Joint Staff, or Service-level staff.
