We are seeking a passionate Operations and Sustainment Systems Engineer to help manage a critical new facet of our expanding business within the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA). Our NGA customer recognizes the need of formalized support for these critical applications. A geographically distributed team is currently stood up spanning Springfield VA (NCE), Arnold MO (NCW) and Denver CO (Denver Tech Center - DTC).
What You’ll Get to Do:
Use industry proven open source processes and tools to support a broad set of application development teams.
Support the entire product lifecycle to include requirement analysis, technical design, system integration, implementation and deployment.
Translate customer/user needs into project requirements and ultimately working solutions.
Assist in the development and tracking of continuous monitoring (ConMon) metrics across various platforms and applications Installing and configuring exporters to send data to Elasticsearch
Assist with validating the ConMon information collection and reporting process.
Validate solutions and determine improvements to lower costs, enhance efficiency, improve the reliability of monitoring security-related information and generate ConMon alerts to stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Job RESPONSIBILITIES include learning and understanding the function and operation of all GEOINT Services applications that are part of the CI/CD pipeline. Deploy software builds, assist various Digital Maker Services teams, maintain cloud applications and make engineering changes as needed. Work within the Agile framework to plan and deliver complex features/stories/tasks within Increment/Sprints. Harvesting of application and user metrics and displaying on various dashboards.

You’ll Bring these Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with CI Poly
- Typically requires bachelor's degree. In lieu of degree relevant experience may be substituted.
- A minimum of 7 years of work-related experience.
Experience with continuous monitoring tools, including Elastic Beats, Kibana, Grafana, Prometheus.
AWS- EC2, S3, RDS, ElastiCache, Route 53, IAM, CloudFront, CloudWatch, etc
PaaS - Cloud Foundry, OpenShift, etc
Strong Linux skills
CompTIA Security+ certification or equivalent IAT Lv2/3 certificate aligning with DoD 8140 requirement
These Qualification Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with Devops tools, including Gitlab, Nexus, Redmine, Sonar, Threadfix, Jenkins.
Experience developing and delivering software on Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar cloud services
Understanding of agile development practices, including Agile Scrum methodology.
Knowledge of Intelligence Community (IC) processes, policies and guidance
