What You’ll Get to Do:

The UC/AV Engineer shall exhibit an ability to judge situations rationally and objectively, taking into account the necessary facts, information, and company procedures. In support of Tier3 support operations, the UC/AV Engineer shall determine severity and follows priorities while considering risks and viable alternatives. The UC/AV Engineer shall have the ability and desire to take ownership of support issues and reach successful resolution with customers. Additionally, he/she shall provide technical assistance and support as part of the core engineering team and be directly involved with non-standard voice operations. The UC/AV Engineer will be involved in the daily operations of roughly 8500 customer phones across multiple systems.

More About the Role:

The Unified Comms / Audio Visual Engineer shall manage projects in the deployment of Telephony and A/V infrastructure areas including, but not limited to:

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager

  • Cisco Unified Communications Manager IM & Presence Service

  • Cisco Unity Connection

  • Cisco Agent Desktop for Cisco Unified Contact Center

  • Cisco Meeting Server (CMS)

  • Cisco TelePresence Management Suite (TMS)

  • Deployment of VoIP and dVTC/VTC at future off site locations

  • Continued upgrading and improving on existing systems  

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance

  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.

  • 5-8 years of related systems engineering experience within the areas of Unified Comms / Audio Visual systems engineering

  • Understand UC and AV design, requirements, and functions.

  • Provide expert level technical input in the area of Unified Communications and AV system administration

  • Experienced with Call Manager 12.5 or higher, expert level proficiency in utilizing Bulk Administration Templates and Tools.

  • Coordinate with source data custodians to understand the data required to meet a specific requirement

  • Expert level proficiency in MS Excel and other data manipulation tools required to logically sort, reference, analyze, and correlate data from multiple non-standard data sources

  • Develop and execute detailed SOP's and documentation in areas of Unified Communications and AV Engineering

  • Perform integration proof of concept testing as required

  • Provide weekly status reports to manager and/or stakeholders as required

  • Expertise in WAN network facilities and protocol

  • Demonstrate detail-oriented, logical approach to manipulating large data sets

  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication skills
