The ability to be adaptable and work constructively with a technically diverse and geographically separated team is crucial. We are looking for a Release Manager who has worked with or has a strong interest in agile software development practices and delivering deployable software in short sprints.

What You’ll Get to Do:

Oversee a portfolio of Product Teams executing software development in an Agile environment to ensure timely and quality delivery of software products to the customer. Serve as the Agile practice lead and mentor for the portfolio teams and Scrum Masters in ensuring teams are following established process, applying Agile best practices, and consistently meeting the Definition of Done for Release artifacts. You will interact with network services, cybersecurity, quality assurance, and configuration management teams to coordinate and schedule post sprint release activities, identify and correct core problems.

Supporting critical end user applications and working in a highly Agile environment as both a mentor and technology leader working with Scrum Masters, Business Analysts and Product Architects to deliver on time solutions. Leading the Agile Solution Factory (ASF) processes at the portfolio level for a given Release Establishing and maintaining Release cadence and coordination activities across Product Teams and Shared Services Facilitating Integrated Release Planning, Release Scrums, Scrum of Scrums, and related ceremonies Building and maintaining Release, Sprint, and Deployment schedules, coordinating with appropriate contractor and customer stakeholders Ensuring deployments are promoted and test activities occur within development environments in accordance with the Release Schedule and established framework

More About the Role:

Primary interface for Product Owners and shared services teams and ensuring Defined Definition of Done requirements are being met by Product Teams Primary lead on implementing Agile practices in the context of the Portfolio Assist in removing roadblocks/impediments for the various teams Mentoring Scrum Masters and teams Work with IT management and teams to improve software engineering processes and practices Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality Build strategic relationships and manage complex partnerships, coordinate work between different teams Establish transparent culture to encourage trust and collaboration among teams and partners Emphasize accountability and use metrics to gauge success Gleans industry-wide Scrum Master best practices and brings them into the Scrum Master Guild for discussion Capture and maintain key metrics related to software development, quality, and related artifacts

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Professional Experience: 7+ years related technical experience including Scrum Master roles

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or related Agile certification

  • Agile Coaching or training experience with transforming teams towards a common operating model/methodology

  • Experience with managing multiple 4-6 Agile teams in a portfolio or enterprise setting

  • Experience managing work with Jira products in the context of software development and reporting across multiple teams

  • Expertise with and Office Suite applications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Understanding of traditional software development life cycle, including planning, development, requirements management, CM, quality assurance, and release management

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or related Agile certification

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Information Management Systems, experience considered in lieu of degree

    • Experience with SecDevOps processes and/or tools

    • Current and relevant experience with Customs and Border Protection (CBP) applications.

    • Strong, active listening skills
