CACI seeks a Quality Improvement Nurse to join our team supporting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Healthcare Safety Network Program. You’ll join a diverse team of award-winning epidemiologists, public health analysts, data analysts, and infection preventionists. The ideal candidate has experience working with and developing quality measures used to help measure or quantify healthcare processes, outcomes to provide high-quality health care and/or that relate to one or more quality goals for health care.

More About the Role

  • Serve as internal interface to represent the protocol and training team on different measure projects.

  • Work within the surveillance branch and externally with NHSN users to collect and analyze data and improve performance outcome indicators.

  • Ensure compliance with internal standards, need to be aware of measure requirements (ones in already in play, research to ensure there’s no conflict with federal or state requirement).

  • Conduct literature reviews to support development of new measures or amendment of an existing one.

  • Assist in the design and management of systems to capture and track data on various performance indicators

  • Proficiency with quality improvement processes, systems, and tools e.g., Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) quality framework.

  • Participate/manage initiatives for improvement and evaluating the effectiveness of interventions by working with validation team to ensure that measures are collecting the appropriate data elements.

  • Interact with stakeholders to ensure analysis of the measure produces the outcome that is actionable

  • Collaborate with Surveillance Branch leadership

  • Coordinate on an ongoing and daily basis with contracted personnel from other vendors performing similar work in support of NHSN.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience working with meaningful measures initiative (e.g., CMS-HQI Program, AHRQ)

  • Work competency in electronic health records

  • Ability to obtain NACI clearance

  • Excellent oral, written communication and presentation skills.

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills

  • Highly organized with excellent interpersonal skills

  • Attention to details and problem-solving skills

  • 2 to 5 years in healthcare experience in hospital setting; with at least 1 year in hospital quality department

  • College degree (B.S.) in Nursing, Public Health, or a related discipline or equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

  • CIC

  • CPHQ certification

  • Relevant EHR certification (e.g., EPIC)

  • Informatics experience

  • Knowledge of the National Healthcare Safety Network
