What You’ll Get to Do:
Deliver foreign language training to adult language professionals
Tailor approach to student learning styles and strategies
Work as part of a teaching team
Interact with course developers, curriculum managers, and other instructors to assist with design and implementation of training
Provide constructive feedback on student progress to the Government. All learning assessments correlate with or directly support unit/topic/course objectives;
Supplement instruction with contemporary authentic material
More About the Role:
Use basic classroom technology to include audio/video/DVD components, and computer applications, such as Microsoft Office
Deliver instruction via interactive synchronous and asynchronous learning activities
Ensure all course delivery meets standards in ADET Instruction I-04
Utilize technology such as Apple iBooks Author, ePubs, SmartBoard/Symposium and Blackboard
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Native capability in Pashto and at least an ILR level 2 proficiency in English (OR native capability in English and a 3/3 Pashto)
5 years’ experience teaching adult language education and methodology
3 years’ experience preparing and presenting face-to-face language instruction within a formal language environment.
2 years’ experience finding and using authentic materials to support learning objectives.
6 months experience using appropriate language fonts, keyboards, and language training software.
Bachelor’s Degree (or two additional years of teaching adults)
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Experience teaching translation, grammar, listening and reading comprehension, speaking and writing.
