BITSystems and the FADE program is currently seeking a UX Researcher to support development of a large analytic tool suite in Aurora, CO. You’ll focus on user outreach, engagement and testing that will be used to prototype and develop new capabilities as well as simplify and enhance existing applications. What You’ll Get to Do:
You will work with a talented team of mission engineers, UX, software development and operational analysis to improve existing big data analysis tools and create new capabilities that simplify and enhance user workflows.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Meet with and observe users in their operational environments
Conduct and interpret unbiased research of our potential and current customers.
Conduct and interpret user testing such as usability testing, card sorting, and tree testing.
Coordinate and execute on other research methods including field studies and listening labs.
Advise on product decisions through user research, customer development, and iterative feedback loops
Support the Discovery and Framing process and follow-on user interviews
Continuously learn user trends and behaviors as part of each design cycle
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in experience design, industrial design, HCI or related field OR 3+ years of relevant work experience in UX, product design, or enterprise application fields
5 years of relevant work experience in UX, product design or enterprise application fields or relevant customer-facing job role
User Centered Design (UCD) methods
Design and/or development of full-service applications
Design and product development processes
Early-stage design, ideation techniques, and research methods
Collaborating with a team of programmers with varying skillsets
Solid understanding of user-centered design, visual design, and usability best practices
Excellent management, communication, and presentation skills
Ability to work individually and within a team and assist teammates to achieve team commitments
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
Top Secret clearance required with eligibility to obtain SCI
Must be able to travel up to 25% (travel may be required for this position).
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Ability to build wireframes and mockups
HTML/CSS and Browser Developer Tools
Front-end Java Script development
Work in a rapid and iterative development environment
Understanding of agile and lean philosophies
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Ability to discuss, present and defend designs and design decisions with cross-functional and non-technical audiences
