CACI in Austin is looking for Test Engineer Manager to be part of our dynamic team. We develop large scale enterprise ISR systems and QRCs that utilize Time and Frequency Difference of Arrival (T/FDOA) and other techniques for Precision Geolocation. We provide full End-to-End Mission and Life Cycle Support for our products. Our systems leverage commercial, industry, and Government standards for affordable, flexible, and rapid development.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with software engineers and project leads to ensure test engineer staffing and product coverage

  • Analyze requirements and technical documents, and respond to the team with questions and insights

  • Design and document test methodologies and frameworks to plan for existing and upcoming programs

  • Build test plans needed for various levels of the program providing guidance for Test Engineers, Development teams, and Project leadership

  • Construct test scenarios, test cases, and detailed procedures and verifications, connecting these with requirements and driving more testable code

  • Execute tests and report results

  • Understand, build, and document environments needed for testing

  • Research and propose automation to streamline various testing needs

  • Work on small teams in an agile software development life cycle to develop, maintain, and enhance diverse software systems

  • Apply system level knowledge (software, OS, and hardware) and tools to diagnose and describe issues

  • Reach across groups within the division to provide guidance, and across divisions to provide solution or insights into common testing methodologies

  • Mentor/lead a group of 4-6 test engineers and technical writers

  • Ensure each direct report has project allocations and direction to perform their work

  • Guide each employee in his/her career goals and assess contributions

  • Recruit and hire new personnel when the programmatic needs indicate additional staff are needed

  • Develop and maintain user and administrative documentation to meet customer contract requirements

  • Understand the software life-cycle management and tools

  • Travel onsite to periodically install and test operational systems and updates

You’ll Bring These Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s (or higher) degree in Computer Science or other area of Science or Engineering

  • Minimum 8+ years of relevant work experience in software development and the SDLC processes

Required Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience leading a team or acting as a scrum master

  • Scripting experience in bash, python, or other relevant language

  • Advanced use and experience of Linux debugging and diagnostic tools

  • Extensive experience of and demonstrated dedication to testing methods and techniques

  • Experience and understanding of agile testing practices such as TDD, BDD and continuous integration.

  • Ability to analyze testing requirements and recommend tools, frameworks and strategies for testing large software implementations

  • Understanding of software, automation, and tools

  • Understanding of distributed systems and networking

  • Understanding of Linux security and auditing

  • Experience with source control (git, svn)

  • Familiar with continuous integration tools (Jenkins, Bamboo or similar)

  • Familiar with concepts of GUI and API testing and associated technologies

  • Knowledge of compiled languages

  • Ability to maintain TS/SCI security clearance

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Hands-on experience with container-based delivery and container coordination platforms (docker, kubernetes, etc)

  • Competency with relational databases (mysql, postres, etc)

  • Competency with one or more non-UI test automation frameworks

  • Competency in one or more OO languages (Python, Java, etc)

  • Experience with cloud-based development and delivery

  • Experience developing automation in an Agile team (scrum, kanban)
