CACI has an exciting and immediate opportunity for a Systems Administrator - Mid to support the Federal Protective Service (FPS).
Location: Battle Creek, MI

In this role you will:
Requires you to have a strong technical background and excellent communication skills to interface with the government client, users, administrators, managers, and peer engineers. You are responsible for maintaining and managing the Windows server environment (hybrid, Nutanix, and Cloud) including various technical projects.
Provide systems engineering support to acquisition projects as a method to improve Acquisition quality
Participate in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to support the management of acquisition and sustainment projects
Develop artifacts to support all phases of the DHS Acquisition Lifecycle Framework and Systems Engineering Life Cycle
Research, analyze, and recommend decisions on complex system, infrastructure, and software engineering issues
Participate in the FPS Change Management process by supporting the activities of the Technical Review Board by reviewing change request proposals
Evaluate and recommend disposition issues, waivers, and statutory and regulatory requirements
Evaluate the impact of proposed systems and policy changes upon FPS ITD goals and objectives
Develop and maintain engineering documentation for FPS infrastructure and software systems
Identify organizational needs and make suggestions regarding technical direction of acquisition and sustainment projects.
Engineer, install, maintain, configure and optimize Microsoft server operating systems to include Windows Server 2016, and Windows Server 2022.
Perform Group Policy (gp) administration (create, deploy, manage, and troubleshoot) supporting government systems by implementing industry standard best practices
Perform analysis for collaboration of network / system needs and participate in planning, designing, upgrading and deployment of enterprise datacenter hardware and software using a project-based timeline
Apply appropriate security measures to properly safeguard government systems by implementing industry standard best practices and FPS mandated mitigations
Support the distribution of security patches throughout the enterprise using Microsoft Systems Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and other enterprise level tools
Support the administration of Microsoft SQL databases, Veritas Backup Exec backups, and virtual servers using Nutanix
Coach and mentor more junior members of the team
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
Ability to obtain DoD security clearance
Ability to obtain a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry on Duty (EOD)
Bachelor's Degree + 8 years of relevant experience, or 14 years without a degree
At least one of the following certifications:
Microsoft MCP/MCSA/MCSE Certification
Security+ CE
Network+ A+ ITIL Foundation
Experience in the administration of Server 2016 (updating and patching)
Knowledge of basic networking
Experience in the administration of:
Microsoft Active Directory (create user accounts, manage groups/permissions/access)
Microsoft SQL 2016 databases (log shipping, event management, cluster management)
SCCM (reports, patching, updates)
Virtualization (build and maintain Windows Server virtual machines) running on a hyper-converged infrastructure (Nutanix) and Cloud Service Providers (Azure and AWS)
Veritas Backup Exec
Prepare, participate, present in Change Management process, Technical Review Board, and Change Control Board
Document all work and updates in Service Now tickets
Document standard operating procedures (SOP), work instructions, guides, network diagrams, knowledge base articles
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent teamwork in assisting other team members
