Job Description

CACI is seeking a talented Production Engineer to join the high-tech, dynamic manufacturing facility of its recently acquired Ascent Vision Technologies (AVT), joining CACI as member or its National Security and Innovation Solutions (NSIS) Sector. The primary purpose of this position is to assist in the deployment of the Production Manager’s vision to create and maintain the efficient production of highly technical, complex, electro-mechanical devices of gyro-stabilized camera system subassembly and entire gimbal systems for the Ascent Vision manufacturing facility. The Production Engineer will also be responsible for working closely with the production team and assisting with the following: assembly, quality assurance, process-based (e.g. developing and maintaining efficient production-related procedures/workflows) activities. The Production Engineer will also maintain communications with the AVT Australia team and facilitate the transition from R&D to production.

You’ll Likely Get to Do:

  • Work with cross functional teams including engineering, production, and supply chain to introduce new products to manufacturing, and develop the manufacturing processes to ensure that all products are consistently manufactured

  • Create and maintain product build instructions and build records.

  • Lead production floor by being the SME for all gimbal products manufactured.

  • Organize and lead meetings and trainings related to production.

  • Establish and verify new equipment capabilities and new process parameters prior to release to production

  • Research, design, and purchase new and/or custom equipment and tooling to support manufacturing operations

  • Troubleshoot manufacturing processes, techniques and quality issues and develop corrective actions to maintain productivity and acceptance level

  • Perform assembly station maintenance and compliance with ESD mitigation

  • Assist in the development and recommendation of equipment and workstation layouts to optimize production efficiency and improve quality levels of processes

  • Author and manage controlled documents relating to production including RMA forms, quality assurance forms, incoming inspection forms etc.

  • Perform other duties, assignments, and special projects as assigned.

  • Follow and comply with all safety and personal protective equipment requirements.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Industrial Engineering preferred with minimum 3 years of related experience

  • Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills.

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, Epicor preferred.

  • Organized, efficient, good at multitasking, and driven to succeed.

  • Must be detail & team oriented.

  • Must possess excellent hand eye coordination

  • Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Must have the discipline to follow written and verbal directions closely.

  • Must be neat and orderly in workspaces.

  • Must be able to sit and focus for long periods.

  • Capable of lifting at least 50 lbs.

  • Adhere to product care guidance set forth by the Production Manager.

  • Must adhere to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) and 5S principles.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where requirements may frequently change.

  • Must be a US Citizen.
