CACI is looking for a C++ Developer (Mid-level) with 3-7+ years of professional development experience to join a small on-site team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division developing multi-platform desktop engineering tools in C++ for ship design and engineering modeling and simulation. Applications include such engineering disciplines as ship stability, powering, seakeeping and structural design/analysis. The team uses an agile development process based on SCRUM. The team works on multiple projects in parallel as well as adapt to changing requirements as needed. This position provides the opportunity to work in a relaxed, but energetic small team environment developing software used in mission critical engineering analyses for the Navy.

More About the Role:

A clearance is not required for the candidate to apply and receive and offer but the offer is contingent on the candidate acquiring their interim secret clearance. The candidate must have a strong background in programming and must have experience in C++ development with desired experience in inter-process communication and multi-threading. The candidate must be self-motivated and comfortable working with minimal supervision within a larger group. The candidate must also be comfortable working on various unrelated projects simultaneously where needed. This opportunity provides the candidate with an open environment to learn and provide professional software products without micro-management.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Minimum BS in Computer Science or a similar degree related to Software Development

  • Strong background in developing desktop software applications

  • Significant C++ experience in a Windows and Linux environment

  • Experience scheduling automated builds.

  • Experience in object-oriented programming and design

  • Experience with Visual Studio, GCC, and Intel C++ compilers, and the CMAKE build environment

  • Experience developing graphical user interfaces for desktop application.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience displaying / manipulating 3D geometries.

  • Experience developing and publishing Application interfaces.

  • Experience developing engineering modeling and simulation tools.

  • Application multithreading

  • Experience developing in Linux environment

  • Developing software interfaces between various software tools

  • Experience working in a SCRUM Agile environment

  • Bonus: engineering analysis software development experience in ship design and modeling and simulation

  • Bonus: experience using MFC, VTK, Qt, and Boost
