CACI International Entry Level IT Professional in Bethesda, Maryland

Job Description

CACI is looking to fill a position for an entry-level IT to mid-level IT professional where the candidate possesses an active secret level DoD clearance. The position consists of a small on-site team at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division who will provide IT support of all levels of complexities and severities. This opportunity provides the candidate with professional hands on experience and a wealth of invaluable information that will allow the candidate to grow their skillset and apply what they have learned in the future.

The IT team covers all aspects of IT issues from user and desktop support to setting up complete networks from beginning to end. The user base that is supported is a combination of both civilians and contractors to make up around 1100 users. Successful candidates would be expected to have solid communication skills that will come in the form of emails, phone calls and one on one customer interaction. The candidate must be self-motivated and comfortable working with minimal supervision within a larger group. Candidate should be pro-active with tasking and must be able to solve problems independently as well as cooperatively with other team members. The candidate must also be comfortable working on various unrelated projects simultaneously where needed.

What You’ll Get to Do:

  • Responsible for installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of operating system software patches and application updates in a largely Windows OS environment

  • Responsible for configuring both networked and standalone assets in accordance with DISA Secure Computing Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)

  • Responsible for creating scans of stand-alone and networked Windows systems from the ACAS/NESSUS tool and understanding the results

  • Support Microsoft Windows OS systems, including network configuration and account management

  • Review and update documentation of local security system procedures

  • Assist in maintaining inventory of IT equipment and software applications

  • Provide the customer base with first level support for installed software programs

  • Collaborate with team members to investigate and resolve IT issues related to network settings, registry issues, and security vulnerabilities

  • Maintain communication with management and customers regarding status of tickets.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or better in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field OR equivalent combination of education and experience in Systems Engineering, Network Security Engineering, Operating Systems and/or Desktop Support

  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining computer hardware

  • Must have a Secret Security clearance

  • Self-motived to explore and learn new technologies

  • Self-motived to figure out problems independently

  • Ability to break down and analyze problems effectively and efficiently

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience working with the Navy/Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI) network

  • Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
