CACI International HW-SW Requirements Engineer in Chantilly, Virginia
What You’ll Get to Do:
CACI is looking for a hardware and software requirements engineer to work on the RCA Program in Ashburn and Chantilly, VA. The ideal candidate shall have prior experience defining specifications for upgrading hardware components that comprise of voice, data, audio and video platforms used across a variety of applications, as well as network solutions. Part of assessing and defining specifications shall include a cyber security analysis, making sure any equipment, hardware, or software complies with the Army’s security posture and policies. Successful candidate shall have demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and experience providing specifications for hardware components and software based on customer defined requirements. This individual will interface independently across the team, field installation engineers, integration engineers, system engineers and directly with client stakeholders applying strong verbal and written communications skills to develop and maintain great working relationships. The individual will also facilitate customer meetings to derive end user requirements.
More About the Role:
Serves as a focal point for developing equipment, hardware and software specifications, which includes understanding and documenting requirements, ensuring compliance with the Army’s cyber security policies, preparing documents providing the basis for the procurement of IT hardware/equipment, and interfacing between manufacturers and customers for integrating, upgrading, and modernizing components of integrated systems. Other responsibilities include providing support for onsite and remote servers, VMware, and desktop support for various environments.
Other responsibilities include:
Work on proposal and pricing efforts, minimizing risk exposure to the company
Coordinate with customers, manufacturers and stakeholders to ensure requirements are clear, accurate and meet intended purpose
Interacts regularly with customers and other industry representatives to ensure conformance to customer requirements
Scheduling and allocating work and resolving problems to meet technical performance
Providing appropriate guidance to engineers, analysts, and support personnel
Participating in daily/weekly status meetings of all active installation activities
Ensuring product quality and timeliness of efforts
Server and workstation hardware/software integration and configuration
Support/troubleshooting equipment or system issues via phone or VTC
VMware software support and configuration
Creation of technical documentation
Support for the overall DLP Cybersecurity Program strategy
Assessing entire system lifecycle requirements and network security impacts
Enhance/Implement Cybersecurity vulnerability/A&A hardening testing of Lab environments
Supporting the development of security goals, capabilities, controls, and architecture
Integrate & Test Security – test patches and settings, document A&A artifacts
Validate & Verify security – validate patch status and software control status
Supporting security implementation – apply patches and security settings, performance incident handling and remediation
Continuously evaluate and recommend innovative proven best business practices and tools to enhance defense-in-depth
Establish and define program plan requirements
Research discrepancies and government regulations
Reviews and verifies Bills of Material
Maintaining relevant metrics that will aid program management and the customer
Developing new and refining existing processes to enhance quality and productivity
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active secret clearance (required), Interim is acceptable
Highly responsible, collaborative individual with very strong communication skills and work ethic; self-starter
Working knowledge of and ability to assist others in the use of information security provisioning and monitoring tools to support process improvement
Ability to identify and manage risk
8+ years related technical experience
Experience with continuous integration tools and environments
Understanding of the DOD Cybersecurity policies and requirement
Must have familiarity with procurement for the U.S. Army Reserve and National Guard
Good organizational and interpersonal skills
Good writing and report preparation skills
Experience interfacing with key stakeholders and working closely with project teams
Exceptional collaboration skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
College degree (B.A.; B.S.) in a related discipline
Working knowledge of CISCO routers and switches
