CACI International Software Engineering Lead in Chantilly, Virginia

Job Description

CACI is searching for a Software Engineering Lead to join our team supporting our DHS customer!

You'll be responsible for planning and coordinating all activities related to requirements gathering, analysis, design, development and implementation of client information systems and software applications in an Agile Development Environment.

You'll also:

  • Be responsible for maintaining, supporting and upgrading existing client systems and applications.

  • You will apply proven communication skills, problem-solving skills and knowledge of best practices on issues related to the design, development and deployment of client oriented, mission-critical information and software systems.

  • Have GREAT communication skills and strong interpersonal skills (continual interaction with clients, managers, and users with varying technical backgrounds).

  • Responsible for the development and deployment of new client applications, systems software and/or enhancements and analysis to existing applications.

  • Ensure that projects meet business requirements and goals, fulfill end-user requirements and identify and resolve systems issues; provide story points, lead pre-testing phase of development by evaluating proposals in order to identify potential problem areas and make the appropriate recommendations; collaborate with analysts, DBAs, Project Leads, designers and system owners in the testing of new software programs and applications for quality assurance, program logic and data processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate within an Agile development team

  • Responsible for coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting throughout the application development process and will provide full lifecycle support in maintaining and enhancing TSA's existing suite of web applications.

  • Responsible for working with other application teams to facilitate releases of new applications, or application updates, to production networks

  • Serves as technical lead, and assists with project management responsibilities as needed

Required Skills:

  • Ability to obtain a DOD Security Clearance

  • Ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD)

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years related work experience

  • Must have knowledge and experience in agile sprint process

  • Direct experience in software development and/or programming design and systems management.

  • Direct experience releasing applications built on Microsoft IIS and SQL, and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.x/7.x and Oracle.

  • Experience with .NET/C#, C++, JavaScript, AJAX, Webform, ADO.Net, MVC and Entity Framework.

  • Extensive experience working in an Agile based development environment, utilizing SCRUM, Kanban, providing Story Points.

  • Extensive experience configuring Internet Information Services (IIS), and managing Cluster environment.

  • Experience interfacing front-end applications with MS SQL Server 2012/2008 R2 and Oracle 11g/12c.

  • Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor

  • Provides leadership and training for Software Engineers. Leads, directs, and reviews the work of the Software Engineering team to ensure the program's operational goals are met.

  • Proven communicator and leader. Must be able to work well in an environment facilitating a large group of government and other contractor personnel to achieve a common goal

  • Detail oriented – must be able to recognize critical elements of successful engineering operations and hold themselves and their teams accountable for meeting those critical elements

  • Flexible – The environment is highly dynamic. You will be expected to keep up with the changing environment while ensuring a high level of operational effectiveness

  • • Team Player – This role is part of a much larger team. You will be expected to grow and develop subordinate team members’ moral and well-being while supporting the overall goals of the program
