CACI International System Administrator in Chantilly, Virginia
Responsible for the technical design, planning, implementation, and the highest level of performance tuning and recovery procedures for mission critical enterprise systems. Serves as a technical expert in the area of networking/system administration for the IMSD-CACI operating system. Investigates and analyzes feasibility of system/network requirements and develops system specifications
Work closely with CACI network team to determine IMSD future network needs and plan for network changes.
Install and maintain network hardware and software
Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users
Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security
Ensure network connectivity throughout IMSD infrastructure is on par with CACI technical considerations
Perform network address assignment and assign routing protocols and routing table configuration
Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, software deployment, security updates and patches
Analyze the current IMSD network structure and make recommendations to the IT Manager on how to make the network more efficient
Establishes, maintains and manages users Windows accounts.
Installs, modifies and maintains systems and utility software on server computer systems.
Provides server support related to other software
Install new/rebuild existing VM servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
Establishes guidelines and methods for the installation and management of the host computer operating systems, fiber channel switches, tape libraries and other components
Develops procedures to maintain security and protect systems from unauthorized use, acts of nature and user abuse
Associate’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
Relevant experience may substitute for the degree required on a year for year basis.
Three years’ work experience in complex system systems design, networking and systems software and support.
Knowledge of: Windows operating systems; current equipment and technologies in use; Nutanix system administration, enterprise backup and recovery procedures, and system performance monitoring tools; effective project management techniques; management of CISCO switches.
Ability to: Plan, organize and document complex system network design activities and configure systems to be consistent with institutional policies/procedures; communicate technical/complex information both verbally and in writing; establish and maintain cooperation, understanding, trust and credibility; perform multiple tasks concurrently and respond to emergency situations effectively
