CACI International Test Engineer in Chantilly, Virginia
CACI is looking for talented and motivated Test Engineers in anticipation of a contract award supporting the Continuous Diagnostics & Mitigation (CDM) DEFEND Group F program.
The CDM program is a dynamic approach to fortifying the cybersecurity of government networks and systems. CDM provides federal departments and agencies with capabilities and tools that identify cybersecurity risks on an ongoing basis, prioritize these risks based upon potential impacts, and enable cybersecurity personnel to mitigate the most significant problems first. CACI supports the CDM Program by procuring, installing, and operating a variety of cyber security capabilities for eleven federal agencies in both classified and unclassified IT operational environments.
What You’ll Get to Do:
The Test Engineer will develop and maintain Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs) consisting of Test Cases and Detailed Test Steps and will also assist in the execution of Developmental, Operational, and Security test and evaluation according to Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) requirements.

Prepare and update Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs)
Provide Test Activity Reports (TARs) detailing the results of testing activities
Provide support to an independent organization conducting Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) testing of the infrastructure and develop Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&Ms) to address critical findings
Perform test and evaluation of infrastructure components
Responsible for determining optimal approach to testing complex products or solutions to assure compliance with applicable specifications
Combines customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledges technical, schedule and cost constraints
Develops and directs preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures and schedules for completing systems
Coordinates integrated testing activities
Reviews and evaluates test requirements to ensure completeness of test program, maintain Requirement Traceability Matrix (RTM)
Performs technical analysis of complete systems and prepares comprehensive system level evaluations
Support Service Test and Implementation, ensuring the thorough and appropriate development and execution of test cases for Solution Definition Review (SDR), Solution Readiness Review (SRR), and Product Readiness Review (PRR) SELC phase gates
Established and productive individual contributor
Works independently with general supervision
May influence others technical staff through explanation of facts, policies and practices
Wherever possible, assist technical staff in testing and test lab Change Management and Configuration Management procedures
Wherever possible, assist technical staff in maintaining “forward schedule of changes” calendar for all testing events
Facilitate continuous Security Test and Evaluation (ST&E) throughout all phase of Developmental and Operation Test
May provide guidance and assistance to entry level professionals and/or support employees
Interface directly with a variety of stakeholders at all levels of experience and seniority.
Supports Testing, Test Reports and Test Cases for Change Requests
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
U.S. Citizenship Required
Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be clearable to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) EOD suitability. Active clearance preferred.
Typically has a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 5 years of related work experience
Requires understanding of networks, systems or cybersecurity applications
Requires understanding for the application and how it works in the CDM environment (and on Agency networks), how it works as a tool, and develop test cases based on that understanding
Understanding of formal test procedures, methodologies, and testing applications, documentation, and equipment
Understanding of Change/Configuration Management policies and procedures
Understanding of Developmental, Operational, and Security Test and Evaluation procedures
Understanding with Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP), Test Plan, Test Case development and Requirements Traceability Matrix, Test Analysis Report
Understanding and application of algorithms to test solutions
Understanding of industry security frameworks and cybersecurity threats/vulnerabilities
Knowledge of network infrastructure and networking technology; including HTTP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Proxies, Load balancing, VPN, Linux/Unix, Windows, MAC addressing, Firewalls, routers, bridges, gateways, switches, network design, wireless networks, IP communications, data encryption, Active Directory and LDAP servers
1+ years of experience working with and configuring monitoring cybersecurity tools like McAfee, Tenable and Forescout etc.
1+ years of experience working with Splunk and writing queries to search data associated with different events
Familiar with using tools like WinSCP, Putty etc.
5+ years of experience with SQL and relational database design.
Requires technical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Experience with Atlassian JIRA, Zephyr is very helpful
Working with VM & Cloud environments (e.g., AWS, Azure, ESXi) as well as standard physical servers
Experience working in an IT engineering lab installing and maintaining the operability of commercial off-the-shelf computer and IT equipment and supporting software
Certifications in CSTE, ISO, CMMi are a big plus
Strong understanding of Developmental, Operational, and Security Test and Evaluation procedures
Relevant DHS or .gov Cyber Security focused experience
