Provides analysis and reporting of source material, both printed and audio, of Farsi source material. This position is a non-deployable position in support of the National Ground Intelligence Center (NGIC) in Charlottesville, VA. Candidate will work on a multi-intelligence fused team consisting of other all-source analysts, IMINT and GIS specialists, SIGINT analysts, Culture and Language analysts, with TECH and Collection Management support.
Must possess native or near native proficiency in Fars, typically a minimum of 3/3 on the DLPT or equivalent test.
Active/current TS/SCI security clearance.
Must be able to translate intermediate to advanced level printed materials including technical manuals and Farsi periodicals into good grammatical English.
Must be able to transcribe and translate Farsi audio files into good grammatical English.
Prepares and updates databases of translated source material.
Operates customer furnished monitor/recording equipment.
Scans intercepted data and determines as pertinent or non-pertinent to mission requirements.
Participates in analytical meetings or conferences when applicable.
Drafts product reports.
Communicates intelligence requirements to collection managers and Big Data technologists.
Monitors and analyzes strategic and operational intelligence information.
Provides research support for IC and IA analysts who produce targeting reports and briefings.
Researches, analyzes and provides professional Intelligence assessments that support tactical, operational or strategic goals of customers.
Provides innovation and critical thinking skills to all customer problem sets.
Expected to be able to translate creative and critical thinking into written and oral forms.
Researches unclassified and classified databases for use in written products.
- Native Linguist -“ Requires native level skills and two to four years of experience.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
Non-native Linguist - Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent and two to four years of relevant experience, and a minimum of 3/3 on the DLPT or equivalent test.
