What You’ll Get to Do:

The QA Analyst/Linguist is being sought for continuous review of both the content and quality of the Harmony System data. Whether the data is newly received and being readied for storage or already housed in the Harmony database, high quality must be ensured so that Harmony users are provided the most reliable, readable, and accessible information. Review is inclusive of content reviews, content edits, data mining/research efforts, human language technology tool output, responding to the automated "User feedback" feature that is a part of the Harmony system, and reporting.

More About the Role:

The QA Analyst/Linguist will follow an established quality review process where Harmony System data, whether metadata or documents and translations, can be evaluated for completeness and accuracy. They will make certain all metadata, documents and translations meet or exceed Harmony and Intelligence Community (IC) quality standards established for areas such as, but not limited to, syntax, document duplication, metadata or document completeness, grammar, readability, document duplicity, and translation accuracy.

The QA Analyst/Linguist will make use of COTS/GOTS products to edit metadata, documents and translations that are identified as deficient during the automated Content Review process. They will make corrections to any Harmony metadata, whether newly received or already housed in the database, which does not satisfy the Harmony business rules or sufficiently meet the established syntax, grammar, readability, or completeness standards. They will coordinate corrective action with document originators should a document be deemed deficient as a result of the Content Review process. Corrective action includes, but is not limited to, requesting and processing a newly scanned document, removing a duplicate document, renaming an existing document, or reformatting an existing document. They will coordinate corrective action with translation managers should a translation be deemed deficient as a result of the Content Review process. Corrective action includes, but is not limited to, requesting and processing a new and/or revised translation, removing a duplicate translation, renaming an existing translation, or reformatting an existing translation.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Active Top Secret Level Clearance with SCI Access – Investigation Must be within scope and appear in JPAS


  • Must be able to multi-task and be organized and adaptable to changing/evolving requirements.

  • It is highly desired that the Linguist has a fully functional linguist capability in one of Primary Languages listed below, scoring at least 2/2 in Reading and Listening on the Interagency Linguist Roundtable (ILR) 5-point scale; however, this requirement may be substituted with demonstration of previous experience as a DOMEX Linguist and experience in DoD language operations.

  • Proficiency for both English and the designated primary language is required.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Master’s Degree or PhD in subject area

  • 10 years’ experience working in the IC/DoD environments

  • Minimum of one-year experience performing quality control

  • Experience with Harmony database and associated tools is highly desired

  • Must have excellent communication skills in English and must be proficient in the MS Office Suite
