Be part of a great team of professionals on the Data Transport Product Support Sustainment Logistics Maintenance (DSLM) program. In performing engineering activities for all DSLM efforts, you will be indirectly supporting the continued delivery of telemetry, tracking and commanding (TT&C) capabilities to a variety of US Space Force Satellite Control Network (SCN) users.

What You'll Get To Do:

As Subject Matter Expert you will be asked to provide expertise to the DSLM team. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO and may require occasional travel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • The SME is an SCN expert, with specific technical knowledge within at least one of the associated segments, who can provide detailed information, advice, resolve critical network outages, and direction to organizational leadership and technical teams.

  • The SME will provide technical assistance to the DSLM team.

  • Possesses an in-depth understanding of the organization’s mission, products and services and ensures that technical policies, guidance, and procedures are rigorous and comprehensive.

  • Will routinely meet with Software, Projects, and Sustainment Engineering Managers to provide technical recommendations.

  • Overall responsibilities include supporting senior leaders and managers in charge of the technical planning and execution of services associated the DSLM contract.

  • Responsibilities may include conducting research and providing recommendations that support strategic initiatives such as the development and enhancement of the organization’s systems engineering methodologies, technical test and evaluation (T&E) strategies, networks, laboratories, automation and instrumentation.

  • Oversees research, evaluation, and implementation of new technologies.

  • Identifies issues associated with implementation of emerging technologies and appropriate courses of action.

  • Works with the DSLM leadership team to ensure that recommended solutions meet the organization’s goals and objectives.

  • A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications :

MUST HAVE A SECRET SECURITY CLEARANCE, FOR WHICH YOU MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN. YOU WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION IF YOU DO NOT MEET THIS REQUIREMENT

Education: A technical degree and at least fifteen (15) years of technical experience in the field or in a related technical area. Additional years of experience can be substituted for degree requirements.

Experience:

  • 15+ years of experience in the systems engineering discipline

  • 10+ years of experience in a technical support role of the US Space Force Satellite Control Network (SCN)

Required Skills:

  • Perform analyses and assessments to help determine their consistency with strategic direction, technology development plans, and contractual requirements

  • Analyze identified hardware, software, procedural or training system shortfalls and propose technical alternatives to remedy the problem(s) applying the principles and practices of systems engineering

  • Demonstrated experience with acquisition sensitive engineering, technical interdependency deconfliction, and planning activities

  • Demonstrated experience in developing comprehensive briefings on acquisition, engineering and integration topics for presentation to senior leadership

  • Assist in establishing procedures and standards for managing technical development/architecture plans across the portfolio

  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)

  • Demonstrated experience working within a seamless Government and Contractor team developing acquisition plans and approaches within the system development lifecycle

  • Review, analyze, comment and prepare staffing documents including plans, policies, concepts of operation, technical architectures, initiatives, and programmatic documents

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Understanding of the complete system development life cycle.

  • Knowledge of working within the DoD or AFSCN domain

  • Analyzing system requirements to develop and evaluate complex test specifications, test results and test trends

  • Experience working in an Agile development environment

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$89,500-$188,000
