About the Role:
Provide recommendations on a wide variety of documents related to project technology required IAW DoD and DoN directives and instructions
Support trade studies, engineering, technical analyses, and assessments for tasks in support of various UAS Navy platforms including legacy systems and new technology systems.
Apply engineering and analytical disciplines to verify that the processes and products used in the design, development, fabrication, and installation of prototypes comply with applicable specifications and Configuration Management (CM) plans
Review designs for new product development and for improvements to existing items for project technology
Assess proposed engineering changes, perform feasibility studies, and investigate and resolve hardware system issues in the areas of technology application and insertion and also in the areas of product performance and reliability
Support rapid prototyping techniques to develop systems, subsystems, circuit cards, and assemblies, including any software, firmware, and algorithms required for their operation
Support research and analysis of project technologies to identify requirements and document data to validate system, subsystem, software, equipment, and component compatibility
Support development of test plans, test procedures, test beds, test sets, and reports as part of T&E events. Includes preparation of:
Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMPs)
system qualification and first-article testing
qualification test plans
production acceptance tests
evaluation plans to include Production Acceptance Test and Evaluation (PAT&E)
quality evaluation (surveillance) test plans
Support T&E and V&V for systems, subsystems, and components specified by the Government.
Document all test activities and results to include test plans and procedures, data collection and analyses, and written test reports.
Support a supportability analysis to identify all software required to support the required level of maintenance. Verify all diagnostic and language requirements are identified for intermediate and depot level maintenance capacity
Support performance of maintenance task and supportability analysis to identify all test, support, ground handling, calibration equipment, and fixtures needed to establish organic capability at maintenance level II and level III
What You’ll Get to Do:
Directs quality assurance operations.
Develops and controls quality programs.
Determines the resources required for quality control.
Establishes and maintains a process for evaluating software and associated documentation.
Conducts formal and informal reviews at pre-determined points throughout the development life cycle.
Monitors conformance with QA standards and procedures and maintains the level of quality throughout the life cycle of the Defense Systems (DS) Technical Area Tasks (TAT) requirement.
Conducts quality assurance training for employees.
Suggests methods for improving product quality, design, or processes.
developing the program Quality Assurance/Control Plan (QAP) and Configuration Management Plan (CMP)
validating quality objectives and configuration management as per respective plans
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
US Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain DoD Security Clearance
Bachelor of Science in quality engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing management, manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering preferred
5+ years of experience in the field or in a related area
Familiar with a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedures
Ability to use extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
Ability to lead and direct the work of others Seasoned technical individual contributor
Ability to manage projects/processes
Ability to coach and review the work of lower-level professionals
Ability to resolve difficult and sometimes complex problems
Effective communicator able to influence others regarding system design, solutions, and procedures
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Active DoD SECRET clearance
UAS Navy platforms
DAWIA Quality Level II
Master of Science degree in quality engineering, quality assurance, quality management, manufacturing engineering or industrial engineering
5-12 years of experience in the field or in a related area
