Job Description

About the Role:
Perform a gap analysis to identify documentation required to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of transition to production and fielding, including maintaining the technology throughout its lifecycle.
Plan and document the entire lifecycle of the technology implementation in order to develop a well-planned systems engineering approach
Draft and provide recommendations on a wide variety of documents related to C-UAS technology required IAW DoD and DoN directives and instructions
Research evolving emerging technologies and develop approaches related to C-UAS technology to significantly enhance the functionality and capability of both manned and unmanned platforms.
Perform trade studies, engineering, technical analyses, and assessments for tasks in support of various UAS Navy platforms including legacy systems and new technology systems.
Apply engineering and analytical disciplines to verify that the processes and products used in the design, development, fabrication, and installation of prototypes comply with applicable specifications and Configuration Management (CM) plans
What You’ll Get to Do:
Establishes system information requirements using analysis of the information engineer(s) in the development of enterprise-wide or large-scale information systems.
Designs architecture to include the software, hardware, and communications to support the total requirements as well as provide for present and future cross-functional requirements and interfaces.
Ensures these systems are compatible and in compliance with the standards for open systems architectures, the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) and International Standards Organization (ISO) reference models, and profiles of standards - such as Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Open Systems Environment (OSE) reference model - as they apply to the implementation and specification of Information Management (IM) solution of the application platform, across the application program interface (API), and the external environment/software application.
Ensures that the common operating environment is Technical Architecture Framework for Information Management (TAFIM) (should be Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF)?) compliant.
Evaluates analytically and systematically problems of workflows, organization, and planning and develops appropriate corrective action.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
US Citizenship with the ability to obtain/maintain DoD Security Clearance
Bachelor’s degree in system engineering or computer engineering, or another closely related field
10+ years of experience in the field or in a related area
Prior experience designing system architecture for large scale program
Experience with Technical Architecture Framework for Information Management (TAFIM), Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) compliance
Recognized master in technical discipline
Implements strategic goals
Experience establishing operational plans for technical area
Developed and implemented innovative products, processes, standards or operational plans achieved through research and integration of best practices that will have impact on the achievement of functional results of a project or system
Significantly improved on existing processes and practices
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Active DoD SECRET clearance
DAWIA Sys Engr Level II certification
Master’s degree and/or Ph.D. in systems engineering with undergraduate degrees in system engineering or computer engineering preferred, or another closely related field
