More About the Role:

As the Resource Efficiency Manager (REM), you will work in cooperation with existing energy and engineering staff to focus on six areas identified as essential:

  • Building energy monitoring Programs (BEM) • Coordination with the Energy Center of Expertise (ECOE) for various reporting and project submittal database activities • Resource accounting and sub-metering;

  • Promotion of energy awareness and conservation activities and tenant outreach;

  • Support development of energy reduction projects; and

  • Support energy management in various groups.

The key mission of a dedicated REM is to reduce overall energy/resource consumption. Savings are expected through implementation of energy conservation measures and equipment, identification of utility billing errors, and recommendations of rate schedule changes, The REM will be required to gain personal knowledge of the operation of the various facilities and industrial processes in place. You shall build a network and establish working rapport with people who will be instrumental in supporting the GSA energy program. .

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in energy management, with preference given to on-site and/or federal REM experience.;

  • Ability to demonstrate experience in building energy efficiency with related certifications (P.E., C.E.M. etc.) desirable.;

  • Ability to demonstrate competency with databases and spreadsheets;

  • General Understanding of Visual basic is desirable;

  • Experience presenting technical information to non-technical audiences; and

  • Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

Bachelor's Degree in a related field;

Professional certifications in a related field; and/pr

Experience working for GSA Public Buildings Service (PBS).

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $34,100-$68,200. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
