Software Engineers are inherently predisposed to, and have the ability to, substitute automation for human labor. This is why Google applied their software engineers to run their operational systems as Site Reliability Engineers (SRE), a task historically done by an operations team. As an SRE on FADE, you'll ensure high availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring and emergency response of an operational system used around the globe, and interact directly with users of the system to support their mission.

What You’ll Get to Do :
We are seeking a passionate Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to focus on the overall reliability of a complex and ever-changing system with a fast growing user base. Your responsibilities include maintaining complex computer systems by writing code to automate software releases, monitor systems, and detect and fix problems before users even know there's an issue. You use these skills to improve site performance and overall reliability.
As an SRE you will have the opportunity to:

You’ll Bring These Qualifications :
Education: University Degree (BA/BS) in engineering or equivalent experience
Experience: Minimum 7 years related work experience
Strong grasp of Linux
Configuration management tools (ex. Puppet, Chef)
Monitoring complex systems (ex. ElasticSearch, Grafana)
Automation (ex. Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD)
Willing to share on-call responsibilities to include coming into work during non-business hours to troubleshoot customer issues
Must be certified to meet DoD 8570 level IAT-II qualifications. Security+ certification or CISSP preferred, or obtainable within 6 months of hire.
Candidate must have an active TS/SCI; a current CI polygraph is preferred, else obtainable within 6 months of hire
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
Familiarity with Git
Cloud computing environments (Amazon Web Services)
Container orchestration frameworks such as Docker and Kubernetes
Experience with SQL (ex: PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (ex: Hadoop, Accumulo) technologies
Experience building Java code and deployables (ex. jar, war, ears, OSGI)
Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) and OGC standards (WMS/WFS/KML)
Familiarity with agile development methodologies
Experience with Spring Boot applications, Apache Httpd, Redis, Kafka, Apache Zookeeper, OrientDB, Jetty, Apache Storm
Familiarity with client/server systems using Web REST interfaces

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $71,300-$146,200. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
