What You’ll Get to Do:
- Contribute to the development of CACI NSIS’s state of the art Electronic Surveillance and Electronic Attack systems as a member of the Advanced Systems Development division staff. NSIS Develops and Deploys advanced signal processing systems around the world on terrestrial, seaborne, airborne, and space-borne platforms.
More About the Role:
Develop/Maintain the software to interface between Software Defined Radio (SDR) Frameworks and COTS/GOTS SDR Hardware’s. This includes command, control and status interfaces (C2S), High Speed Data interfaces (up to 1Gsamp/sec), external antenna and amplifier interfaces.
Develop/Maintain FPGA and/or Firmware designs on both vendor and internally developed SDR hardwares. This may include data flow control, received signal time-stamping, precision transmit, front-end digital signal processing (such as sub-band tuning, and spectral estimation), beam-steering, beam-forming.
Integrate and ensure the functionality of internally, vendor, and/or partner developed SDR subsystems.
Contribute to architectural-level system design and interface decisions, subsystem level component selections.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Typically requires a Bachelor or Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or similar engineering discipline.
Must have 5+ years of directly related experience
Must have 5-15 years of defense/intel industry experience.
No clearance is required to begin employment, however you must be eligible for a US Security Clearance for consideration.
Must be able to successfully complete clearance upgrade/sponsorship to TS/SCI with Poly for continued employment.
Expertise with Radio Frequency detection, reception, and transmission systems and subsystems thereof, including but not limited to Antenna Systems, Radio Frequency Front Ends, Digitizers, Detectors, Spectrum Estimation, Modulators, Demodulators, Signal Identification
Expertise with communications systems and signal theory fundamentals such as lowpass and bandpass filtering, complex baseband representation, intermediate frequencies
Expertise designing and implementing software in C, C+, Python, or Matlab, Familiarity with software concepts such as threading, synchronization, interrupt and poll-driven IO
Experience interfacing between systems and subsystems in software, hardware, or a combination of both.
Experience developing in a Linux environment.
Experience and exposure to COTS/GOTS Software Defined Radio frameworks such as GnuRadio, RedHawk, or XMidas
Experience configuring and interacting with Linux based machines
Experience interfacing new Hardware components and/or their features with Linux based machines
Experience designing and/or implementing UDP/TCP socket applications.
Experience implementing functionality in FPGAs using VHDL or Verilog
