CACI is currently looking for experienced Hardware Engineers to join our team developing next generation signals intelligence (SIGINT) and electronic warfare systems for the Department of Defense. What You’ll Get to Do

As a Hardware Engineer you will perform a variety of moderately complex hardware and/or software engineering activities including analysis, design, or test. You will participate on project teams and provide guidance to less experienced engineers and technical staff. You will plan, conduct, and may supervise research, development or installation of products and systems in conformance with engineering design and customer specification. You will support engineering activities both domestic and international products/services. In addition, you will assist in the development of RF System/Subsystem Architectures consisting of antennas, transmitters, receivers, low noise amplifiers, high power amplifiers, RF conversion elements and transmission line equipment. You will perform link analysis and optimization, including effects of propagation medium and possible interference sources. You will support the development and allocation of RF system and subsystem functional and performance requirements. You will identify and track RF technical performance measurements (TPMs). You will aid junior engineers in the design of hardware solutions using industry standard design and simulation tools and automated testing frameworks utilizing the latest test equipment. Having experience with PCB design tools (Altium, Mentor Expedition), RF, circuit, and system simulation tools (Advanced Design Suite, Microwave Office, Spice, MATLAB) is a plus.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct design analysis on components and/or assemblies to assist in the development process by ensuring designs are cost efficient, able to be manufactured, and reliable

  • Analyze hardware specifications and system/subsystem requirements to conceive and document practical designs for hardware components to include servers, network devices, transmission media, storage devices, user interface devices, and special processors

  • Adjust or recommend enhancements in systems and new hardware as well as modify existing hardware to add features and functionality

  • Be knowledgeable of standard test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, and spectrum analyzers

  • Work with Hardware Engineering Team to complete hardware development, simulation and verification for digital signal processing and general processing projects

  • Support Integrated Product Teams, engineering project managers, and program office staff to meet all customer objectives and program milestones

  • Employ circuit design, development, and testing best practices

  • Address complex technical issues/problems

  • Provide specific input to the hardware components of system design to include end-user devices, servers, networking devices, data storage devices, and specialized processors

  • Evaluate emerging technologies to determine advantages and disadvantages of potential solutions.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications

  • US Citizenship is required along with active Secret security clearance

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a Hardware Engineer doing circuit design and circuit board design

  • Applied knowledge of either Altera or Xilinx FPGA devices and their associated application environments

  • Use and configure RF test equipment such as PNAs and Spectrum analyzers

  • Solid understanding of circuit design concepts, patterns, tools, and best practices

  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Experience with RF, circuit, and system simulation tools

  • Ability to lead junior engineering teammates in the areas of technical execution.

These Qualifications Would Be Nice to Have

  • Experience with writing test automation code (Python, C++)

  • Working knowledge of signal processing fundamentals

  • Working knowledge of MATLAB is helpful

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $57,500-$117,900. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
