Mission Assurance Manager for Photonics Lab

What You’ll Get to Do:

Be the face of quality and mission assurance in Photonics Lab by:

  • Representing Photonics Lab within the larger CACI Quality Organization

  • Leading presentation on the CACI quality management system (QMS) and Photonic Labs Mission Assurance to CACI customers .

  • Designing, implementing, and championing data-driven continuous QMS improvement initiatives

  • Working with Photonics Quality and Mission Assurance customer representatives on a weekly basis

  • Aiding in Government proposal submission with cost and schedule estimates for mission assurance scope, and write-ups describing quality-control regimes that meets proposal needs.

  • Training Photonics lab personnel on the CACI QMS

Assure product quality and compliance to program-specific requirements by:

  • Interpreting compliance requirements in program Statements of Work, Mission Assurance Compliance Documents, and Parts, Materials, and Process (PMP) Compliance Documents.

  • Defining, resourcing, and supervising a program team and quality control regime that assures compliance to the program-specific requirements. The scope of the program quality control regime includes:

  • Representing Mission Assurance at various program reviews and review boards

  • Reviewing engineering documents to support production builds, assure compliance to program-specific requirements, and to seek avenues to improve efficiency and effectiveness, reduce risk to product quality, and to error proof.

  • Leading in the disposition of non-conformances, identifying containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence.

  • Inspecting hardware including developing inspection methods to analyze product quality and documenting results and findings after inspections are carried out.

  • Performing First Article Inspections

  • Ensuring risk management activities (dFMEA, pFMEA) are executed and maintained according to standards and procedures

  • Evaluating suppliers for addition and maintenance on Approved Supplier List

  • Leading documentation preparation and presentation of product for customer acceptance and sell-off

Assure compliance to Photonics Lab specific requirements by:

  • Leading the sustainment of AS9100 Revision D certification by collaborating with Photonics leadership and personnel to address findings to the CACI QMS.

  • Writing QMS engineering process documents

  • Identifying, investigating and determining disposition on non-conformance's and corrective actions

  • Sustaining and improving parts traceability, inventory, and calibration systems

Lead the Photonics Lab mission assurance team by:

  • Providing leadership in hiring and collaborating with the Recruiting Manager to seek out new avenues for recruiting technical staff

  • Ensuring team training and career growth by providing training plans and mentoring.

  • Lead by example with respect to all matters related to ethics, compliance, and security.

  • Travel to other LGS Locations or Customer Sites as necessary.

  • Proactively ensure a safe work environment and adhere to LGS EH&S policies and procedures.

  • Perform other duties as required.

  • If required, obtain/retain a government security clearance at the level to perform the job.

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering and a minimum of 5 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience.

  • Knowledge of and experience with ISO9001/AS9100 quality systems

  • Knowledge in the areas of design, production, product evaluation and reliability, inspection/test, and/or contract review as they apply to product or process quality.

  • Knowledge of Root Cause and Corrective Action tools, such as Ishikawa, FMEA, FMECA, 5Why, etc

  • Must Be A US Citizen.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills as well as strong interpersonal, problem solving and time management skills

  • Proficient in MS Word, Project, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, and demonstrated commitment to customer mission and program success.

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), Six Sigma Blackbelt, or similar certification preferred.

  • Prior experience as a quality engineer supporting product design and production.

  • Prior experience in an organization that provides hardware products for use in space systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully leading teams and successfully collaborating across organizational boundaries

  • Master’s degree preferred
